    I'll allow it.

In general I hate expansion and franchise relocation. With the exception of the Mets, Islanders, Seahawks, and Mariners (who all violate the anti-expansion rule), I'd like to see each league return to its roster of teams from its first season. NL 1876, AL 1901, NFL 1922, NHL 1923, NBA 1950.
Perhaps each team could also only be comprised of players who were on those original rosters? We don't want any expansion players coming in and replacing the good names like Foghorn Bradley, Norb Sacksteder and Babe Dye.

They actually have playoffs in England for teams to be promoted, with the finals at Wembley. There are also some countries where you can stave off relegation through playoffs.

That loud groan you heard was from the MLS league office as Columbus beats Atlanta on Kicks.

                      One and done?

                      Harsh.

If I'm reading this right we get the winner of KC/Houston. Anything to choose from them? KC* is the team we crapped out against in the home leg a few years ago. It was... disappointing.

                      * I'm lying. It was RSL. For whatever reason I conflate the two.

The knockout round is a harsh mistress.

The league must be so excited for these playoff matchups. Two Canadian teams in Vancouver and Toronto, Columbus the red headed stepchild, and Houston. They must be begging for Seattle-Portland and a NY derby for the conference finals.

And this is third year in a row that Sporting KC has lost in the Western Conference Knockout Round, last two times the team who knocked them out went on to win MLS Cup,

So congratulations to the 2017 MLS Cup winner the Houston Dynamo!

We would need to have a wager. If Seattle wins I give you a rose. If Portland wins you give me an emerald.

The turf gods in Houston have given Portland a mighty “**** you!” with 3 injuries and subs in 60 minutes.
