Saturday’s game will mark Umile’s final appearance at The Gut after 28 years as UNH head coach. He will retire sometime in the spring — the later, the better from his perspective — with over 600 victories, at least six Hockey East coach-of-the-year awards, and innumerable awards for his players, his teams and himself.
Looks like some Nostradamus of the North already foresees a successful conclusion to the _____ for the NRN.
Is everyone on vacation this week, or what??? This place has become a ghost town - rankings too high, perhaps?
There's more chatter about UNH in stories like this!! How 'bout some predicts on the 'Cat on 'Cat weekend?
How we escaped that period not being down 3-0 I will never know...
When you outfit your forward lines with one pure goal scorer and a lot forwards who work hard and can skate, but have always struggled with finishing, sometimes you struggle finishing when your one goal scorer doesn't do the job...
Recruiters everywhere should take notice. Skill matters. You can recruit skill players and coach them to play hard. Recruiting hard working, but limited forwards and expecting them to start scoring in college is trickier. It's how you end up averaging under 3.0 goals per game like UVM...
Nazarian with the big second effort puts UNH up 2-1
Ref, head to Sweat Waters on Church Street after the game. It's a cool bar!
Doesnt get much better than a UNH/UVM Game at the Gut. Took in a lot of games at the Gut when I lived there. UVM fans will be vocal and every hit deserves a PK in their minds!
