The only thing that stops Sweet Caroline from being the most pathetic thing in sports is Chelsea Dagger.

Thankfully, I haven't been to a bar in Boston in 15 years.

I find it extremely positive that two hardcore Bostonians understand that Sweet Caroline is dreck. That's the equivalent of a girl from Five Towns saying "this is sh-t!" to New York State of Mind. Very good; we salute you.

A few years back and for several seasons, the Canucks were arguably the Blackhawks' biggest rival as the two met several years in a row or most years for a bit.

The Hawks had the upper hand through most of that and this was recorded at that time...

          Pretty funny even now.

Miss that rivalry as it got pretty nasty with plenty to hate on that Canucks team.

Where have you gone Kevin Bieksa...

Nah, that's still better than RnR Pt. 2, or Sweet Caroline.

While it was maybe cliché, they used to play the intro to Welcome to the Jungle at the MET Center at the start of a North Stars power play.

They didn't just play it, they played it at concert+ decibel levels.

Was AWESOME... even if it often portended bad things for my Blackhawks.

Blackhawks record with me in attendance at the MET Center... 2-14

RnR II is up there with Seven Nation Army. But at least Jack White gets richer every time some moron in an AHL rink plays it.

Colgate did this back in the early 90s during the pregame 15-minute skate. It was made even cooler by the fact of the building being utterly empty, so you could hear two things: the song and, intermittently, the skates on the ice. When the Red Raiders were strong it was quite intimidating.

That variation created by bbdl, MNS, stateofhockey, and yours truly at the Red Carpet in St Cloud after a Tech game. True story.

And I don't mind any of the songs listed in the past few posts. HOWEVER, so overplayed. I understand the hate.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

When did you create it? Because I’ve been hearing that since my freshman year in college.

I don't recall the year, but that night stood out. We almost got our arses beat at the Red Carpet for chanting it, bbdl hired a limo to take us to a strip club in Sartell (where we walked out at dawn), and soh/I had to rack up $30 bar tabs (each) in 3 hours, drinks only, so they would accept our credit cards. It was a wild night.

I didn't grow up in Boston, but I've been there since '02. I still love other Boston bands that bring an eyeroll - like the Dropkick Murphys and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

The Bosstones rule; almost as good as Reel Big Fish. They are somewhere in that large peloton that runs a distant second to Rancid.

I like Rancid but I don’t know if I’d rate them that far ahead of everyone else.
