        Indeed.

I would Crowdfund a professional chorale group and orchestra to do this.

My lesson from my most recent trip to Red Rocks. Don't splurge for the good seats at Red Rocks, you lose the joy of being at Red Rocks when you are close to the stage.

I could see that. Visited during an off-time, when nothing was going on. I think I'd want to sit about 3/4 towards the back (and center, of course).
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

                  Good advice, thanks.

OTOH, my advice from Wolf Trap is get the best, closest seats you can afford. Picnicking on the grass is wildly overrated, and the seating under the roof is very comfortable. Plus, VA evening weather being what it is, it's good to have that protection.

General advice for opera: break the bank. It's a rare treat -- get the most out of it and be as close as possible. I had third row seats for Tosca last year and could actually see the facial reactions of the cast and watch them making eye contact, doing little touches. It made the performance 100x more enjoyable.

Took the trip down to Portland yesterday for a little record shopping. Turned out to be a Van Morrison kind of day, as I picked up four very nice condition releases of his, including maybe my favorite Van album, Into The Music. I have had this on CD for years, but saw this excellent vinyl copy and had to have it.

Yeah, it's a Van Morrison record but it really belongs to Toni Marcus and her violin, and the other stringed instruments she plays. Her playing is just remarkable, soaring and diving, and just so beautiful throughout the record. Demonstrated best in my favorite of his songs, And The Healing Has Begun.

Thank you for the Sneaker Pimps recommendation. Though the mix of "6 Underground" that appears on their debut album is not the mix that was a top 40 hit...

Went to a Sound of Music Sing-a-Long last night at Wolf Trap, with 3 women: we dressed as Maria and her "problems": Dr. Mrs. was "Flibberty Gibbet," her friend from Hawaii was "Will o' the Wisp," and I was, proudly, "A Clown!" There were no awards but we got a great hand on stage.
