    I don't know about every generation, but I posit in most ways we are dumber now than we were 30 and 40 years ago. Sure we might have more raw knowledge, but we're still dumber.

    But we're rescued by immigration. I suspect 95% of added value in the form of innovation, entrepreneurship, art, science, and just plain hard work is delivered by the first two generations of immigrant families. By generation three people have their feet up and mind in neutral. We should deport them and always have an America of people who actually give a sh-t about America.
    I don't care about deporting anyone, I just wish we could get the people who actually give a sh-t about America to go out and vote intelligently.

      The average is moving up while the median is stagnant or retreating.

      And the worst part is, those below the median choose it.

                    No because you are supposed to accept what ever children God sends you. Of course all those people that do that and need help to feed them.... are leaches on society, shouldn't have children unless they can pay for them, shouldn't have sex, should know better and all sorts of other judgmental things (because the unwritten fact is those are the not so white people in the ghettos)

                    Good thing science and research sucks because the places they do that have the highest rate of unplanned births, STDs etc. My town- a little puddle of stupid in the blue state doesn't even teach maturation. The previous Stupidintendent- now diefied- killed everything to do with those body parts in the curriculum. When I was in practice I could tell the kids who came thru our system. They were singularly ignorant of any facts. The parents assumed what had been in the curriculum when they were younger was still being taught. The level of ignorance was astonishing. Leaving it up to ignorant parents to teach the kids~ bad idea.

                      On Friday, Veselnitskaya, who has denied working for the Russian government when meeting with Trump Jr., acknowledged ties with the office of Russia’s top prosecutor.

                      Trump Jr. had not disclosed Akhmetshin’s presence at the meeting, which now appears to have included at least eight people

                      Trump Jr. has insisted that no meaningful information about Clinton was provided in the meeting, which lasted between 20 to 30 minutes, and that it was altogether a waste of time.

                      But Akhmetshin, in a separate interview Friday with the Washington Post, said that Veselnitskaya had learned that an American hedge fund, perhaps linked to the Democratic National Committee, was in violation of Russian tax law. Akhmetshin told the Associated Press that Veselnitskaya brought documents she said would show the Democratic National Committee received illicit funds.

                      When Veselnitskaya told Trump Jr. the Trump campaign would need to do some of its own research, the president’s son lost interest, Akhmetshin told the Associated Press.

                      Paul (Seamus) Ryan, a top lawyer with the watchdog group Common Cause, argued Friday that any research Veselnitskaya left behind with Trump Jr. about the DNC would amount to an illegal contribution.

                        The evangelical third of America is timeless and unchanging. It could be medieval Kiev or ancient Jericho. They have a pre-Old Testament mindset -- a Homeric stew of revenge, honor, rapine and fear of the old gods.

                        The "Christianity" of these places is a kind of idealized future that they dream of but never put in the work to achieve. That's why the self-described Christian portions of the country are the least Christian -- the most violent and debased -- in actuality. They're still trying to catch up with Abraham let alone Jesus.

                            We're seeing the mirror of what happened to the public high schools in the 60s and 70s. It appeared kids were getting dumber, but that was because in prior generations the dumb kids would drop out and work the farms and factories or join the army. Likewise, it now seems like we're inundated with a new wave of stupid people but in actuality they were always there, the internet now just connects them to us.
