Nothing new here. Being used to set the example for other teams.

Please don't confuse or associate Mr. Alaska Hockey with Alaska Hockey.

IMHO, it was a stupid penalty and deserves a suspension.

Much needed 5-3 road victory against LSSU tonight, and a congratulations to Sophomore Troy Van Tetering for the hat trick.

The Nooks are a pretty good skating club. Our record doesn’t necessarily tell the story . We were tied for last place, but we have played BGSU, BSU, NMU, and FSU at FSU. We have also clutched defeat from the jaws of victory a few times with some real bone-head defensive play. We were never going to win the conference, but we should be in the hunt for home ice, and hopefully have not already conceded that with poor play.

The boys need to channel their Saturday night effort against NMU. We will not score 3 goals in under one minute against LSSU tomorrow night, so be prepared for a tighter battle. LSSU is desperate and will play accordingly. Weather the first ten minutes and then take it to them. Sweeping on the road is tough, but our playoff hopes may depend on it.

              Go Nooks!

I wish we could keep these leads. I was having flash backs to last week when we went up 3-0. Even though we won, I’d love to see them finish the games with a bigger lead.

We have played more conference games than the teams around us in the standings, we need to get the sweep to overcome those games in hand. The first ten minutes did not seem to go well for the offense tonight. Thankfully they had a great minute of hockey and for the first time this year held onto a 3-0 lead. Special teams was average tonight, but with how it has gone so far this year, it seemed spectacular. If we can continue to have better special teams play we should be in the hunt for home ice. Congratulations to Van Tetering on the hat trick, sure would be nice to see more of those in Fairbanks. Seems like they happen more frequently on the road for the Nanooks in the past decade.

I’m just glad we were able to defend a 3-0 lead for the first time this season. These guys can score in bunches, but tend to lay off the gas with a lead. Not necessarily a good combo.

Right now we would make the playoffs, still a lot of time left. Won't go as far as saying we will make the playoffs but we have been playing decent.
Just to be clear. My disinterest in this team became of the Uni's disinterest. Without the success of the hockey team, the other teams would not be where they are. Way to pay back the hockey team. **** UAA.

It sucks when a player takes a cheap shot like that at the end of a game, and they get a mere misconduct. Little good that does and it doesn't punish the player or the team in any way. Sure not sending a message that this is not to be tolerated.
Agree, he leads with his elbow and leaves his feet to hit a player who is already on his knees. Glad he got a game for it, that play needs to not happen in today's game, IMO.

Since nobody else will say it... WHO GOT THE CUP??

Anton Martinsson gets the nod for conference goalie of the week for the sweep. Well deserved! Should have helped him preserve the Goose Egg on Saturday...

17 points in the standings, but a couple of games ahead of others around us who play one more weekend, we have two in hand vs Michigan Tech, and 6 points gets us a tie with them--and we play each other near the end of January.

No hockey for a few weeks until Mankato and Huntsville make their respective 2 weekers in early January.

57% of our wins this seasons have been against UAA. Not sure if I should laugh or cry.

In all seriousness, it was nice to wrap the Cup up early in the season. Hopefully it’ll take some of the pressure off the guys in the last weekend of the season.

Interesting. UAA still has not replaced their AD. I wonder how long it will be before UA_ hires someone to replace Gray.

                                From ADN:

"According to NCAA, the (UAF) hockey team used ineligible players in every game played from the 2007-08 season to the 2010-11 season. Over that span, the wins and ties will all become losses. 4 wins and 2 ties came against rival UAA".

                                UAF is 56-86-12 vs. UAA.
