    Here’s another useful guide.

What remains to be seen is how the hockey “game of the day” on the NBC schedule (a replay, I assume, shown at reasonable hours for North America) will be chosen. With no NHL, and the buzz about the Korean women, maybe the women’s game fans will be thrown a bone or two. Here’s hoping.

I would guess the women's USA-Canada round robin game is a given.

It was nice to see the women's version of "the greatest one" on the broadcast of the hockey game along with Tessa Bonhomme. At 4'11" she provided quite the contrast when Zaugg was on the ice. She was also quite a hockey player unfortunately, from a Gopher fan's perspective. As Mark Johnson once described her, "5 foot-nothing and a joy to watch."

Don't think Korea will medal this time out.

They might. Playing in front of the home fans should provide a burst of energy at some point, and it isn't like Sweden, Switzerland, and Japan are such dominating possession teams that they'll never get to touch the puck. Plus, all of these teams will be viewing Korea as the game where they might be able to experiment a bit, so if they get a big lead, they'll reduce ice time for their top players, and Korea should get to shoot at a backup goalie or two.

DVR set for the Finland game tonight - sure hope the USA doesn't look past anybody leading up to the Gold Medal game!

Interesting article on Marissa Brandt in today's Pioneer Press (Sorry, but I don't know how to do links). In the past few months there has been more articles on the Brandt sisters in our two local newspapers than on anyone else participating in the Olympics. Even more than on Lindsey Vonn, maybe, and she has had quite a few, too.

Sounds like young Rooney might be the starter. Interesting storyline to watch. I looked up the 2014 Olympics today. In 2014 Vetter played 4 games, and Shaus played 1 vs Switzerland. McLaughlin did not play.

Korea got eight shots against Switzerland. Eight!

(Heck, if they scored them all, they still would not have won...)

Japan is Korea’s only hope to score. I don’t expect it against Sweden.

(But what you say does make sense. I just don’t see it.)

OMG, all that regrouping inside their own zone by the US against a team like Finland is a complete waste of time and effort. They should be playing a much more north-south style and just driving it down Finland's throat on every shift. Finland has already figured out that while USA is regrouping inside their own zone the Finns are just going sit back and spread out in the neutral zone and wait for the Americans to come out. Very frustrating to see that strategy employed in this situation. Slowly the Finns settled down and gained some confidence and then capitalized on a good opportunity. 1-0 Finland after one period of play.

US with blazing speed out of the chute and tons of possession early in the first but you can never count the Finns out. Nice goal by Hovi on the feed from the corner late in the period.

Is that a regulation Olympic sized rink or is it the optics with the blue boards?...looks huge. I was thinking that a shot from the point will have to travel about 40 yards before it gets to the net!

                            Great fast game so far.

Very much agree with this. It was odd. Nerves maybe?. 2nd period looked a lot better. I see Decker Knight and Coyne are back together. Don’t think they played together in the first and Knight looked invisible or stood out for turnovers in the first. Stauber can’t get cute with the lines and waste her talent.

The US looks like it has stepped up the speed of their already very fast game for this tournament. Looks like it's starting to wear down the Finns.

#15 for Finland just backed away from that pile up in the corner and allowed MLam to skate all alone to the net. Defensive blunder.

Forgot to mention an absolutely gorgeous hard pass in the first period by Keller travelled over half the length of that sheet...tape to tape. Amazing.

Nice job by Raty to get back in position to stop Bellamy's backhand.

                                Excellent game.
