However, the competition for players with Major Junior causes problems since they are Major Junior drafted when they are 15. You also never hear about verbals from a team, only the player, his junior team or junior coach. Unfortunately, there are no easy answers.

Michigan Tech is short 1 goalie with Angus' departure, and Packy Munson is now looking for a school...someone please play matchmaker. Anyone with connections to Joe Shawhan should ask him to take a look at this guy. His numbers from Vermont don't look too shabby.

Re: Michigan Tech Off-season Revised - Onward and Upward
A college hockey coach is never truly on vacation. They are always in the loop.
I suppose it is possible that Tech is going after this guy. However, if I remember right Coach Shawhan mentioned during the last radio show that we had a third goalie lined up, just waiting for all the NCAA paperwork to get approved. The second thing that comes to mind is that Tech supposedly doesn't have any scholarships to give out. That being the whole reason we had to ditch a couple of kids who had already signed NLIs.. The third goalie was going to have to be a walk on pay his own way type. SO, if we get this kid is he paying his own way? Or is there a scholarship earmarked for a goalie left and all that about no scholarship money and needing a walk on type a load of crap? Or has he suddenly been adopted by John Rockwell?

Re: Michigan Tech Off-season Revised - Onward and Upward
Given the parting was mutual, I don't think the transfer out of DU is that difficult to explain. Jalliet is returning for his senior year, so Munson would have had to battle with the incoming freshman for the backup job.
The transfer out of Vermont, OTOH, with those numbers as a frosh, looks pretty odd. Disagreement with coaches? Off-ice issue? Couldn't get a spot at an NCHC school, so played at Vermont for a year to prove himself, and then asked to walk-on transfer to a western school that looked like it might have an opening? Tampering (hey, Montgomery did play for Maine )?
