Anyone who says that one salt tastes different from another is lying.
That's not quite true. You can get natural salts that are not purified and so have a lot of different minerals in it that don't appear in pure table salt. They have colors in them because of the other minerals/natural dirt. Also the grain size makes a difference in how it reacts with your cooking method and so on, to flavor it differently.

Smoked salt is pretty easy to get, and won't break the bank - I always keep some around for seasoning meats, deviled eggs, or just a late-night celery/radish snack plate. Run a Google search.

Some of the more "localized" sea salts, especially the Hawaiian ones, will cost you a pretty penny.

Side note - how did we get to talking about salt in the Trump thread?

Costco. I don't consider it expensive at all.

B/C salt is white, and WHITEYS! Or something.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Maybe I'm just a little salty this morning, but there is a cooking thread.

So bad in fact that salt is more interesting.

As far as I can tell, all the salt of the earth here in rural Wisconsin is whitey white.
