Not sure of the context of this photo, but a fan posted a rendering of potential Messa renovations on Twitter a few days back. Rendering is dated May 2017.

            NHL Draft -

Foo, whose brother Spencer played at Union for three seasons, was the fifth-leading scorer for the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Brooks Bandits with 34 goals and 32 assists in 60 games. In the postseason, Foo had 10 goals and 10 assists in 13 games as the Bandits won the AJHL title.

Adams played for the U.S. Hockey League’s Fargo Force. He was the team’s third-leading scorer with 37 goals and 23 assists in 56 games. His 60 points were fifth best in the USHL. Adams led the USHL with 16 power-play goals. (He is 6'4")

A total of 60 current and future NCAA players were taken in the draft.

A total of 10 ECAC Hockey players were selected in the draft. ECACH tournament champion Harvard led the way with three. Union was second with two. Clarkson, Cornell, Quinnipiac, RPI and Yale each had a player selected. Nine of the selectees are incoming players.

Re: Union College: 2017 off-season thread

..and big Foo signs with Calgary. http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2017/06/28/...d-opportunity/

I'm not surprised that Adams got drafted but am little surprised that Little Foo was taken. Adams is huge (6-4, 210ish) and led the USHL in scoring for most of this past season. He is a surprisingly good skater that gets up to speed and stays there. Also has nice hands and obviously is good in the corners and front of the net. Interestingly, he went to same HS/prep as Vecks, where he reportedly improved his skating dramatically after working with a personal skating coach. He's a power forward more in the Jeremy Welsh style and has the size that pro scouts drool about. I suspect Foo was taken because his teammate (Cole Makar - UMass recruit) was taken 4th overall in the draft and there had to be a ton of NHL scouts watching Brooks all year.

Parker Foo has a lot of the same type of game as his brother - is a slasher that goes hard to the net, good shot, clever with the puck without overhandling it - and looked like he really improved this past season. He has a bit of a physical edge to game too. Despite being 5th on his team in scoring, it's mostly because his team was loaded and dominated the AJHL. Brooks lost only 5 games entire season & playoffs, and missed out barely on the RBC Cup (in OT). Foo was 10th in scoring in AJHL and led the team in the post season. Watching video of him, he actually looked like the most dynamic forward on Brooks team most nights - no small feat. His game is still a little rough and he'll need to adjust and get consistent in NCAAs, but his future is bright. Both him and Adams should help ease some of the pain of losing the "Big 2".

Re: Union College: 2017 off-season thread

"For the first time since the 1992-93 season, the Terriers will kick off their schedule with a regular-season home contest, as Union makes its second trip to Agganis in as many seasons on Saturday, Sept. 30. It will mark the first September contest in BU's 96-season history."

                Should be a great contest.
