The reason for the talent in the west? Because MN didn't rely on Canada.

To be fair, I've played golf every month of the year in Colorado. One of my best rounds was in mid-January. That being said, I'm sure the number of days he could play golf in Florida during the winter is significantly higher. Of course, he might be a little busy during those months if he were to get the Panthers job.

I don't believe he would. He stands a better chance at landing an NHL head coaching position at DU than as an assistant in LA, particularly given that he has already earned 2 interviews for NHL head coach positions while at DU and the Pioneers are going to be loaded next season.

I've read his contract out is for a NHL HEAD Coaching position. Assume there would be a punitive financial charge for an assistant's position.

BTW, Cost of Living in LA-Long Beach-Orange County 25 to 35% higher than Denver.

Head coach salary for LA-Long Beach-Orange County 200-500% higher than Denver.

You can forget about the LA Kings talk as they hired their assistant coach, John Stevens. Now onward to FLA which is a much better fit with their young players.

Kiss DUs repeat chances goodbye if he leaves.

Borgstrom, Terry, and Gambrell will all follow him out the door.

Gambrell will definitely leave if Monty does. Terry would go from 70 percent to stay to 50 percent. He could still use some time to bulk up. Even if Monty leaves, I think Borgstrom stays. He'd have the opportunity to play with a countryman and friend next season.

In my mind, Gambrell has been the biggest flight risk even with Monty at DU.
