Watched The Mighty Ducks again, and I'm wondering if people from Edina are really like that.

But let's be real...There are 40 some other teams and only two alaskan teams...the day one of us wins something big will be the day I transfer to UAA

That is about the only thing accurate about that movie
Still love it though

Of course I'm a fan of the Vikings. A sick and demented Masochist of a fan, but a fan none the less.

Death Note. Adaptation from Japanese anime series about a hs kid that finds a notebook and discovers he can cause the death of anyone by writing their name down in the book. Some super detective from elsewhere is inexplicably able to determine the kid is the source of all the subsequent killings and the game is on. Confusing, horribly paced, poorly acted, just a waste of time. I didn't see the original but apparently it's even worse for those that have. 2/5 at best.
Discovered we have an Alamo near us so we caught Close Encounters on the big screen. Even today it has impact, so in the day it must have been striking. The little TV screen really does not do it justice. Except, of course, the mashed potatoes -- one of the greatest scenes in film history.

Richard Dreyfus was great when he was on heroin.
mookie remembers seeing that as a young'un and the impact it had. big scale movie.
a legend and an out of work bum look a lot alike, daddy.
A Hollywood insider tells us that in the film that’s so far been dubbed “Bond 25”: “Bond quits the secret service, and he’s in love and gets married.”
Ugh, considering the Daniel Craig Bond is still hung up on Vesper Lynd from Casino Royale, as that love tragedy has spread across Quantum of Solace and Spectre. I am hoping Bond 25 neatly ties up Daniel Craig's story arc while leaving enough to pass along to the next guy (like, let Blofeld live to battle the next Bond).
And interesting they would take the (simplified) theme from OHMSS when they already did more than just a wink and a nod to it throughout Spectre.
Maybe I was expecting a little more "Layer Cake" and a lot less "I Dreamed of Africa."
For dxm because he hates old movies. This may help. I think it's great.
And another, with the incomprable Margarita Carmen Cansino.
How many of those clips had Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, Judy Garland and/or Ginger Rogers? I think I saw Bill "Bojangles" Robinson in quite a few, too.
Mickey Rooney was quite the hoofer in his youth.
Nowadays instead of dancing we have explosions and car chases.
