So I'm skeptical.Last edited by robertearle; 03-29-2017, 01:43 PM.

"Kennedy told the Intercollegiate Athletics Committee in October that UND was committed to keeping 12 sports—men's and women's hockey, men's and women's basketball, football, men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field, men's and women's cross-country, and volleyball."
And apparently they haven't even told the team yet. Real classy.https://twitter.com/TheVTHockeyBlog

"Disaster", as far as I'm concerned. Maybe it won't seem so bad in a little while. Right now I feel I'm in a coal mine looking at a dead canary.

Re: REPORT: North Dakota cutting women's hockey
For those inclined, here is a web site (they changed the URL since the last time I went looking) where you can see some data (but not all you'd like) regarding budgets, participation numbers per sport and total, etc. for the athletic departments of colleges. So, for example, you can see how much UND spends on men's hockey vs women (but not how much revenue per sport, other than football and basketball), etc etc.
https://ope.ed.gov/athletics/#/
Using the "12 sports" list from earlier, and then including women's hockey, I get that they are cutting sports that have 58 male participants and 125 female participants.
Either there is some other cut they haven't announced or we haven't heard, or they are going to get their asses handed to them in court. No way does that fly under Title 9.Last edited by robertearle; 03-29-2017, 02:38 PM.
