I get that part. I just don't think that every team should be in the playoffs. I hate the "orange slices for everyone" concept. The regular season slate is long enough to figure out which bottom three teams don't get to continue playing on.

I love that they used money as an excuse. Playoff games barely draw because of the schedule (with break) as it is. The opening round last year averaged ... 2-3k?

Having gone as a neutral observer to at least one first-round game every year since Hockey East started the format... the first round is really bad. The games are bad because the teams are bad, no one goes to them so there's barely any atmosphere, and nothing of any real consequence is going to happen because even if there is an upset the team that pulls off the upset is assured of getting vaporized in the quarterfinals by the #1 seed because Hockey East reseeds every round.

Thanks for sharing this. I actually just heard about this today and came here to see if anyone had news regarding it. I stopped going there this past season because I thought the service and food quality went way down hill. There was one point (either this season or previous) where they only served a buffet pre-game because they were so understaffed.

I'm not surprised their management would do something terrible like that. It's too bad given there are not a lot of options close to the arena.

There wasn't any point where it was only a buffet, at least that I remember. Hell, I thought that actually helped them.

Regardless, this is just bad all around by their owner.

Sounds like compounding dumb on dumb... bad execution is separate from design issues

I've never seen "concepts" work and you're forgetting the nature of your clients. Everybody wants to pretend they're cool and hip these days and I wish theyd stop trying

Further, to go out and fire all those people... my guess is they gutted management and start over but that still leaves a bad taste

Edit: do they own the whole building yet?

Maybe not at the bar, but there was a day where if you wanted to be sat in the dining room, it was buffet or nothing.
