As someone who was at the game, Gustavus had to spend the last 10 minutes of regulation and most of OT killing off penalties.

I think Middlebury might have put up a better fight against Plattsburgh than Norwich could muster yesterday, but big Bill's team choked on their home ice in the end costing themselves the chance to find out.

GAC's goalie was awesome! Looked like Katie Burt all over again.

I don't mind the 3rd place game, especially for the seniors that get to take their final curtain call in front of family and friends of their program.

Good comment. I like the 3rd place game too. Still gives you something special to fight for. It is tough to be the team that ends up in 4th place but I still think it's worthwhile. I wish they still had it for the men. I wish they did it for D1 men and women too. Kind of makes it like the Olympics playing for gold, silver, and bronze.

I'm indifferent....Interesting point of note....D-III women's hockey is the only championship out of the 90 that has a third place game and is the only one out of the 90 that isn't at a neutral site either.

The neutral site is another reason that I favour the extra game.
Very special weekend for the Adrian faithful.

    Re: D3 championship weekend

This game is definitely unique in terms of all the penalties being called, good, bad, and ugly. Other than that, these are clearly the two best teams in the nation.

Edit: I've seen 3 different Plattsburgh players get upended much more overtly than some of the calls that have gone against them, but no calls were made against the three Adrian "upenders." Great play by defenseman Duquette to step up and tie it up to send it to OT. Nice timing for her first goal of the season! Seems fitting that we'll have extra hockey tonight. Maybe the refs will have a chance to talk about settling down and stop being so whistle-happy.

    Yeah, seriously.

All three teams came to play tonight- Plattsburgh, Adrian and the referees. I would not be surprised if the zebras decide this one at the rate they are going.
