  • Re: TV: The Golden Era Reborn

The series finale of the Leftovers is the best finale I've ever seen. Just so well done.
This series is now in my top 10 of all time.

      House Of Cards:

5 eps into the new season. Yeah, keep yourself strapped in, folks. Although if they DO drag the particular event in question more than an episode or more? It's starting to get a LITTLE thin. Get us the result, and keep this train rolling.

And Vicious Doug is the best Doug. Hints of not Vicious Doug...no, leave that alone.

I'm Dying Up Here. Jim Carey inspired Showtime series about the early 70's LA Comedy Scene. Haven't seen EP 2 yet, but if EP 1 is any indication this should be dark, funny, inspiring and maddening all in one.

I liked it...but it suffers from what a lot of these shows suffer from...prolonged shots of nothing where people just look at things and say nothing. There is a lot of empty space which made the show seem longer than it actually was.

Everything else though (about 85%) was awesome!

Yeah, baby. Getting into some really good stuff now. Only complaint? What is with that weird out-of-storyline stuff that happened with the Civil War dude, that also happened with the Secret Service guy? I really don't get the angle or "vision" that the show has. It's so out of place.

Finally finished Feud. The last episode was uneven, careening from mawkish to genuinely poignant. It's as if they didn't know how to finish so they doubled back to the meat.

All in all, though, an extremely good series and the Curse of Irwin Allen on them if bug eyes doesn't get her Emmy.

              This would be great.

The whole show has been great. Just watched episode 7 and Geoffrey Rush finally appeared to play Einstein.

Just finished tonight. I will say the second to last episode: HOLY EFFING SH*! The finale is almost like the morning after a night of passion. The second to last episode is amazing.

So this week's Fargo was incredible on multiple levels.

The brutality and loneliness of the woods clearing scene were really done well.

Then they walked into that goddam bowling alley. My jaw actually dropped. I loved that they went so explicitly The Big Lebowski".

I didn't know that the guy playing the cowboy was from Twin Peaks. But that just made it even better. The show really is a nod to Twin Peaks with its madness.

I still think Peter and the Wolf is my favorite episode so far though.
