Starcraft players measure themselves in APM, actions per minute. How quickly they can input commands to the game. 60 APM is pretty decent for a mere mortal in the US.

The cutoff for "professional" level in Korea is 300 APM. That's 5 actions a second. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Still a game or activity, along with the others I mentioned.

Is it challenging? Hell yes. I am not out to take away from their skill. No way, no how. But it's not a sport.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

And I'm not arguing with Brent about how wrong he is about golfers. Its not worth the time, when I'm obviously right.

Jeebus. That's insane. The fastest I've ever been clocked typing was in keyboarding class back in high school. It was 190ish wpm. I can't even process the speed of some of these Starcraft videos in my head.

It's not like people didn't already know. The site is in or near the top 20 sites for world wide popularity. It gets traffic, and it's not just that one extremely lonely guy at the corner drugstore.

I'm impressed by how they've managed to get name dropped all over the media. They're using this weird "word of mouth" marketing strategy that's actually every bit as formalized and Madison Avenue as Coke or Chevy, but it's done in a clever, side glance way.

I suspect that if the actual numbers for internet site traffic were ever collected the top 20 sites in the world would all be porn. Maybe the top 20,000. Men are horndogs. Alert the media.

If you run through a search engine to find the most visited sites on the web, there's a list that contains mostly useful sites. Sites like Google top the list, and porn sites occupy only a handful of spots. Basically, at least the way I make of that list, there are a few reputable sites that won't put malware onto your PC, so people keep going back to those few sites. And they all likely have a free content along with subscription content.

Interesting. Brazil is about as close as there is to a "post-racial" society. Racism is a still a problem with rural / less educated / lower income people. Sounds familiar? Just like here, poor whites cling to racial prejudice as a desperate way to overcompensate. But overall people with access to education have let it go.

I've always thought Brazil had the only sane solution: drop all racial laws and miscegenation your way out of it. It helps that they're also the most beautiful people on earth. Race mixing is a really, really good idea, aesthetically.

Nope. Virgins are too self-conscious and not really much fun in the sack because of that.
