BU and BC also have lots of players each at the USNTDP, which does not factor into this draft, but that's besides the point. Lots of NU players potentially coming through the best junior hockey league before arriving at NU

FOH meeting will be June 14, a Wednesday. Meeting will start ~ 6:00. AFAIK there is no cost, but you may need to pre-register for it? Will pass along info as I see it. Highly recommend fans come if they can to discuss the past season with coach, schedule unveiling, recruits, budget and operations for FOH, future plans for the arena/program, and other topics that are of interest. It's catered by Rebecca's too, so the food is good.

So now we have the "Who will be the next AD" question to keep us entertained during the off-season. More than a few have assumed that JM would move up when the time came but IMO that may be wishful thinking. My first question would be if JM would even want the job (he seems to like coaching). Beyond that lies the fact that on today's hyper PC campuses, any high level hire is going to have to survive any number of PC litmus tests.

Things being as they are, I wouldn't assume anyone has an inside track to the AD's office.

                • move Jerry Keefe to HC & Madigan to AD.

Madigan will be a good fit @ AD (everyone knows that). Keefer may not want to be HC just yet.. but he will be HC someplace, at some point.

This may be one of the bigger decisions in the history of NU athletics when you consider the question that nobody around NU seems to talk about, Matthews and whatever will come next. I recall Madigan saying that he thought Matthews had ~10 years left and that had to have been 5 years ago now. Whoever gets hired will likely play a key piece in the future home of the Huskies.

They're already getting rid of Punters, they can't take Matthews too! That would really suck.

Oh no! Why are they getting rid of Punters?

The University bought the complex with that and UHOP next door. I think they said it would remain open for at least 2 years, but NU now owns that side of Huntington all the way down to the soccer fields, so it's almost assured some shiny new building will go up sooner rather than later.

Scouting report in Solow that came out in a mock draft today. Had him as a 6th rounder.

USHLs top scorer who ran Dubuques offense and power play. Solow is a skilled offensive player who makes his linemates better thanks to excellent vision and the ability to find the man who nobody knows is open. Time and again, Solow serves the puck to his teammates on a silver platter, but he wont rush into a decision if he thinks a better option could develop. His zone entries range from poised and deliberate to quick and violent, but dumping the puck in is viewed as the last resort. Solow is adept at one-touch and slap passes, and he always looks for trailers and cutters. Solow may be undersized, but hes quite strong and will try to finish his checks. His skating is slightly above average and choppy, but he can change gears and eventually outmaneuvers defensemen.
