But this is how political power and the addled partisan brain in D.C. functions. Those in power always regard leaks as a heinous crime, while those out of power regard them as a noble act. They seamlessly shift sides as their position in D.C. changes.
The leak lovers are now the leak haters. And on. And on.

People were blaming Dunham for Clinton losing the election because she was too outspoken.

Next nominee for Labor secretary looks competent, albeit a party hack.

Acosta was criticized for some of his actions as assistant attorney general, though, including his decision in 2004 to notify a federal judge that the Justice Department saw no issue with Republicans’ plan to place “challengers” at some polling places during the election. Democrats fought against this, arguing that it was discriminatory because the challengers were being placed mainly in black neighborhoods.

“It is totally unusual, it is unprecedented for the Justice Department to offer its opinions on the merits of a case like that,” Al Gerhardstein, a lawyer representing two civil rights activists, said at the time. “This is the civil rights division saying it is OK for voters to be ambushed when they reach for a ballot. That’s how the letter reads to me.”
                        So... yeah.

Better than the burger king, anyway.

To be fair stories about the veal fattening pens where Members sit dialing for dollars have been stock fare for at least a decade.

It's funny because it's something EVERY Member hates and wants to kill, but it's also one of their main ways to scrape up bribery dollars so they don't dare give it up.

Sometimes I think if you introduced public campaign financing it would pass 435/100 - 0 just so the Members could improve their quality of life. According to people on the Hill it's the worst duty you can pull in government short of actually cleaning Trumps laundry.

No, I'm saying this has been the way in Washington for 20 years now. So glad you're finally noticing.
