That is 100% true. I'll admit I over-Fish people. You're not all like that and considering the million gradations of what passes for "left" here, all the way from Rover's cigar-chomping Wall Street broker who wants everything to stay the same but just lay off the gays I guess to my man will never be free until the last trust fund kid is strangled with the guts of the last priest oh and ban the designated hitter to Scoob's, well... anyway, we are all very different.

Are we sure that's what that data means? It could mean the liberals voted just as much as we always have, but working class whites who typically vote D crossed the aisle to vote for the guy made completely out of Slim Jims and Funyuns.

        Pennsylvania:
        2008 - 3.27 million to 2.66 million
        2012 - 2.99 million to 2.68 million
        2016 - 2.93 million to 2.97 million

        Wisconsin:
        2008 - 1.68 million to 1.26 million
        2012 - 1.62 million to 1.41 million
        2016 - 1.38 million to 1.40 million

        Michigan:
        2008 - 2.87 million to 2.05 million
        2012 - 2.56 million to 2.12 million
        2016 - 2.27 million to 2.28 million

        Minnesota:
        2008 - 1.57 million to 1.28 million
        2012 - 1.55 million to 1.32 million
        2016 - 1.36 million to 1.32 million

        Iowa:
        2008 - 0.83 million to 0.68 million
        2012 - 0.82 million to 0.73 million
        2016 - 0.65 million to 0.80 million

        Ohio:
        2008 - 2.94 million to 2.68 million
        2012 - 2.83 million to 2.66 million
        2016 - 2.39 million to 2.84 million

I see a trend there. Not much uptick in GOP votes in the battleground states but a massive dropoff in votes for the Democrats.

        The big exception is Florida.
        Florida:
        2008 - 4.28 million to 4.04 million
        2012 - 4.24 million to 4.16 million
        2016 - 4.50 million to 4.62 million
Well done and a devastating indictment of my party unfortunately.

Kep, you need to stop getting all butt hurt when I say Dems are lazy. They are. What I've said repeatedly is that I have no idea if its Bernie supporters that didn't vote. However you seem to draw that inference. Dems didn't vote in 2010 (no Hillary on ballot), they didn't vote in 2014 (no Hillary on ballot), they didn't vote in 2016 (Hillary on ballot, but she drew more votes than all Dems in downballot races in their own states except for Cooper in NC). We can't "move on" until we get to the bottom of why Dems have sat out 3 of the last 4 elections. Why you don't want to do that review is both astounding and absurd.

So, working for Trump is now a "sh-t sandwich." For real, not from Commenters or pundits but from the guy who just said kthxbai to the Labor job.

I believe the AP got "pwned".

              Or is it punked.

Or ... was this a way to uncover a mole/leaker.

Spicer tweeted before boarding Air Force One on Friday that the AP report 'is not true. DHS also confirms it is 100% false.' He was responding to an Associated Press tweet that said the draft memo 'shows Trump considering mobilizing the National Guard.'
He didn't provide evidence that DHS has denied the report. A spokesman for that agency did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

              Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...#ixzz4YxZ8szzf
I'm listening to Armstrong and Getty and they are reporting that DHS has made an official statement that this is false.

This spread like wildfire. Listening to A&G this was full flare and then out in like 10 minutes. They were reading tweets they were getting. Completely hilarious, from both political sides.

Everyone's confirmation biases were fully engaged: "See what a tyrant he is!" to "More Very Fake News!"

This is the political equivalent to the Wall Street "flash crash" from a couple years back: "Oh sh... what... huh... back... wha-the just happened?" And all that fast.

I suspect there is a memo. Just like there is a memo somewhere in a folder in DC that defines plans to invade Canada. Or Bermuda.

Of course there will be some crossing of the lines, and it likely went both ways. The difference is in degrees. Also, Pres. Obama was able to get out certain blocs of voters who had otherwise not really shown an interest in participating in the voting process prior to 2008. And aside form 2008 and 2012, those blocs of people had shown that they weren't really interested in continuing to participate regardless. That's why I would say that if the Democrats want a candidate that can unseat Trump, they'll have to find a non-Asian minority.

Most of that certainly wasn't on liberals.

Firstly, you can never be too condescending for a liberal. We've sat through seminars with Noah Chomsky and Catharine MacKinnon FFS. We aren't comfortable unless we've been condescended to three times before afternoon tea.

Kerry was boring, but I doubt that's what kept Dems away in 2004. That has got to go down as the most unforgivable election in recent US history. Even Sergeant Scheisskopf has the caveat that he hadn't actually performed in office yet, so there is a (albeit lame) excuse. I'm willing to pin full blame on all the Dems for that one, OK.

Hillary's vag may have held back some backwoods' Dems who still associate the mule and The Cause and haven't gotten the news since 1928, but my lord liberals were falling all over ourselves trying to jam that stank into the Oval.

The unpardonable sin of the liberals was Nader, which begat Dubya which begat 16 years and counting of horror. That is truly all on us. But all the rest of that stuff? Nah. Bad product doesn't move off the shelves. You don't blame the consumers for that.

Actually, in 2004, there were 8,000,000 more democratic votes than in 2000. Every state saw an increase in the number of democratic voters. Every state. It just so happened that there were 11,000,000 more GOP voters than in 2000. Including 2,000,000 between CA and FL alone.

Depends on how you define product. In 2000, 2004, and 2016 the Democrats had the most qualified person on the ticket and they couldn't generate the enthusiasm necessary to get the votes.

It's so unfair when people are judged based on their behavior. It's basically prejudice, except without the pre- part I guess.

You've repeated this more than a few times now, but never go on to explain exactly why Hillary was a "bad product". I understand that's a popular take, but when pressed, most of the reasons come down to latent sexism, phony scandals like emailz and Benghazi, or in the case of liberals, countering all of Bernie's ideas with "Yes, that sounds terrific, but maybe let's try something that would actually work in the real world..."

I suspect there is a memo. Just like there is a memo somewhere in a folder in DC that defines plans to invade Canada. Or Bermuda.
Or, you know, they're *gasp* lying. It would be the first time this administration lied. In the last 30 seconds.
