The most amazing thing about the Tebow story is that it's not the first time a reigning Cy Young award winner has faced a Heisman Trophy winner.

Per the Mets announcers, Frank Viola faced Bo Jackson in 1989. Except that game actually counted because Bo was good enough to play in a real game.

In WBC action, Israel and the Netherlands are move on to Pool E in Tokyo. Korea and Taiwan are eliminated. Japan has essentially moved on to Pool E, also.

Huh. That is actually pretty interesting.

Apparently they actually pulled in a metric sh-t ton of money from Florida redneck losers for that appearance both in boosted attendance and merc. Hey, Deplorable money is as green as any other. Milk those rubes dry*.

The more people hate on Tebow, the more I want him to succeed. I dunno why.

It's not hate, it's point and laugh.

Obviously I'm completely on board if he wants to turn into a bona fide MLB player. Gonna have to sell something to afford Jake and Thor.

Despite being a preseason tournament, US-DR featured Jim Leyland pitching mismanagement as real as any postseason game.

Watched three really good baseball-related things on my DVR today. Smithsonian Channel had a series about Major League Legends last year - the Hank Aaron episode is outstanding. Very well done and insightful. Lou Gehrig's episode was really good, too. If they replay any of them - check it out. I didn't see the Babe Ruth or Ted Williams episodes.

And then I watched the 30 for 30 about Darryl and Doc. Really interesting, but incredibly depressing. Seems like Darryl is doing OK these days, but I so wish Doc's story could've ended after his no-hitter with the Yankees. Heartbreaking.

The one with Ted is on 3/21. I've always found his approach to the game fascinating.
