You neglected to mention that all 7 runs were in the bottom of the 9th:

    Homer (1)
    Walk
    Single
    Walk
    Ground out (2)
    Strike out
    Double (3, 4)
    Walk
    Walk
    Single (5, 6)
    Single (7)

    And... scene.

I thought of you when I read this quote from "Veeck--As In Wreck: The Autobiography of Bill Veeck" by Bill Veeck, Ed Linn -
"Built into the scoreboard also was a speaker system so powerful that if we had ever turned it all the way up, we could have blown 50,000 people out of the park. With a speaker system, we could obviously play any kind of sound track, or combination of sound tracks, that suited our mood and purpose. My own favorite performance, I think, was the rendition of the chorus of Handel’s Messiah, a glorious and exalting passage under any circumstances but, as you can imagine, a thing of sheer exultation when combined with the bursting bombs and the rockets’ red glare in celebration of a White Sox home run. Try to picture it. The ball has disappeared over the fence, the batter is rounding first base and the lights have already begun to chase themselves madly up and down and around the board. From the speaker come the strains of the Messiah chorus, but just as it has built to its marvelous climax, there is a moment of silence (as the amplifying system is pushed up) and then, in a beautiful and booming choral arrangement: HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!

Now comes another classical passage, a passage known to us opera lovers as The Lone Ranger Galloping Theme: Da-dada da-dada da-dada da da. Awaaaaaaaaayyyyy! And away we go, again, to the full-voiced Messiah chorus and HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! And as the last HALLELUJAH! fades away, there is a BOOM! And a BOOM! And a BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! as the bombs explode and the rockets splash across the sky."

Coors Field has, at one and only one of the concession stands, Rocky Mountain Oysters.

I've had 'em. They're actually decent. Taste kinda like fish, but not as flaky.

Umpire Dale Scott had to be immobilized and stretchered out tonight.

He's 57. It looks innocuous but those guys are tough so it must have hit him just right.

Update on this: he passed the concussion protocol (which I had no idea was for the umps, too) and returned to the game. Wonder if he can skate?

Rob Manfred was on the Braves TV broadcast for an inning. One of the most striking comments? He's open to realignment. More East vs West to reduce travel in the post season. Also kicking around doing away with the American League and National Leagues as they are.

Also realizes that teams hang on dearly to some of the quirks as part of their teams identity.
