B.S. There are, and always have been, so many variables with respect to the game of baseball and baseball players. The ball, the bats, the height of the mound, the ballparks they play in, enforcement of rules relating to substances on the baseball, conditioning and nutrition, travel, drugs, etc...

The only deserved asterisk for baseball records is the length of the season.

Bummer, I was hoping the Rockies could get him. However, it did lead to this:

Big price in prospects, but a great contract and solid spot in the rotation. Get Hendricks healthy and maybe they can make a run.

This pretty much says Arrieta and Lackey won't be back. I like the trade. Theo is saying win now and deal with the future later.

@AnthonyDiComo: Tim Tebow hit a walk-off home run tonight for Class A St. Lucie. He has an active 11-game hitting streak there, and is batting .327. #Mets

I can't wait for Tebow to make it to the majors and hit 20 HRs his first season. I am really pulling for it. I have always liked the guy, the coverage of him ****ed me off. But I have never had a problem with him.

I don't know, Tebow's obviously a gifted athlete, but right now, at least from what I've seen, his power is all opposite field which makes you wonder if he'll be able to handle big league pitching. But I would never say he can't do it. In any case he's been a real boon to the league. St. Lucie played two @ the Ft. Myers Miracle a week or so ago and both nights sold out. Tebow is still (and probably always will be) a god in Florida.

Same here. I have no beef with him. If he can play, he'll find his way to stick in the majors, even at this relatively advanced age. His play will dictate things either way.

I just can't wait for him to lay hands on our pitchers and heal them.

Kep, the Mets will probably not call up Tebow this year.

His odds of getting a regulation PA as a Met are roughly mine.
