Weather a consolation final would help or hurt in PWR would really depend on what teams are in that game and who wins / loses? If a much lower ranked team were to win the consolation game over a bubble team, wouldn't that actually hurt the bubble team as far as PWR?

Interesting that I did not order them and the Agganis account manager website was also asking me to pay. I'm glad that I saw that so they did not automatically run my credit card. Sounds like they have some website issues!

It absolutely could hurt a team as well, but from a PWR perspective, it affords teams another opportunity to play, most often against an opponent where a win would improve their RPI. Consolation games are ridiculous and I'd rather no one have them, but unfortunately everyone except the B1G does it and it affords those NCHC and WCHA teams a second chance to play their way in.

I have been compiling true home game attendance for every Hockey East game going back as far as I can find the information. I have complete attendance figures back to the start of the 2001-02 season, but I thought it made more sense to post my thoughts on the Average Men's Attendance thread I started last year.

          Sean
          Women's Hockey East Champions 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2010
          Men's NCAA Champions 2009, 1995, 1978, 1972, 1971

          BU Hockey Games
          BU Hockey highlights and extras
          NCAA Hockey Financials
Women's Division I Longest Hockey Games

For those of you (especially oldtimers like myself who remember watching these games) who can't wait any longer for the meaningful games to start and are looking for something to do, here are a couple of links:

            1971 National Championship Game: BU 4 - Minnesota 2

            1972 National Championship Game: BU 4 - Cornell 0

A few companion pieces to these two title games:
              --The Vagabond Champions
--Looking back at BU's 1972 Champions
In the '71 title game, IIRC, Bob Brown's slapshot cracked Minnesota goalie Dennis Erickson's kneecap, but he stayed in the game. The most dominant BU squad ever finished 28-2-1 and averaged a 7-2 win.

Considering there hasn't been a consolation game in like 300 years, not really.

Nothing of note to add but posting to get us off the third page and push the spam threads down a little more.

Well we had 2.6k on FRI and 3.0k and change on SAT 2 years ago and that was during Eichelmania. So I will say 2,500 FRI and 2,900 SAT.

The last time BU hosted NU in the quarterfinals attendance was 3,039 (Fri), 3,676 (Sat) and 3,884 (Sun). I know that the playoffs tickets were part of the season ticket package then and they aren't now, but I'll go with the same attendance: 3,000 Friday and 3,500 Saturday.
