Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

Pretty fair rankings IMO, strength of schedule is something that plays quite a bit into these, plus quality wins, bad losses, etc. All these could change though within a few weeks with conference tourneys rapidly approaching. Nice to see Utica up there plus rival Hobart. Final batches of regular season games coming up, quite the season it's been. Excited to see all of the conference tourneys and NCAA's soon. Best of luck to all teams out there.

Don't really understand how Endicott is over Oswego.

3-1-1 vs regionally ranked teams, and holds a higher SOS than Norwich or Endicott

      Apparently playing D2 teams matters.

Norwich SOS is .505 / Oswego SOS is .505 and Endicott is .538 (although I don't know how) That is all that is on the sheets this week other than W/L percentage and Oswego falls behind both.

Record vs. Ranked doesn't apply until next week.
Oz's SOS is exactly the same as NU, .505. Endicott is .538.

thought maybe Genny would be higher and maybe a bone for Buff st,I will not even get into all the sos and krach and the rest of the #'s, just sayin...p.s. Endicott is a funny one to figure out,as I said before they have 5 or 6 D1 transfers that are producing, but after that not sure,if they play a team like Oswego/Norwich who goes 4 lines deep not sure who comes out on top??...as for the tie to Norwich,it was the first game of the year,as we all know A LOT changes as the season goes on...A LOT.....after checking their roster they do look like they have a young team and will be around for awhile, also cant figure out their sos, looks like they play all/mostly cupcakes???

Endicott Men and Women are both ranked. Who would've predicted that in October?

Both rankings are dubious at best. I am seriously wondering whether there is an error in the Endicott men's SOS calculation. How can they possibly have that high an SOS with that schedule?

Where'd the RNK come from? Did you pull it from the various teams results?? It looks like that's what you did. Thanks for the effort.

Just received word from USCHO that D3 Pairwise info has been "taken down", "because the D-III committees don't adhere to the PairWise calculations like they do in D-I".
                          I have asked for clarification.

Endicott, Williams, and Babson. 2-0-2 against them. A case could also be made for NEC being "good" as they're 17-7-1 And placed 2nd in the NEHC.

As I've already written one opus tonight, let's say this: I believe those who have served on the regional committees over the past what, 4-5 years(?), have done a tremendous job of playing it straight by the numbers which has helped alleviate many of the formerly widespread, and perhaps warranted, concerns that people in positions of power were shamelessly manipulating the process. For that, they deserve a lot of credit.
I wish I am able to live long enough to do all the things I was attributed to.
