    NESCAC COLBY

    POOL C SNC
    POOL C HAMILTON
    POOL C ENDICOTT
    POOL C UWSP

No Geneseo, No Buff State, No Utica, No Babson...obviously food for thought as this list will change (probably Sunday morning)
Hard to argue with any of those Pool Cs minus MAYBE Hamilton? Endicott has to be favorite to win CCC this year although certainly a candidate for an upset too. Honestly no one is safe this year...the parity might have reached an all-time high. Going to be an exciting finish to the season and certainly some deserving teams that could win the NC will be left out this year.

Yeah, but what was the secret ranking? Would you be dismembered from the committee if you told us?

I'm still not sold. They tied a Norwich team in which they only mustard 18 shots on goal of which a lot were perimeter shots. They took advantage of their few chances, but I didn't feel like they "skated" with Norwich.

And then they've beaten a Jeykl and Hyde Neumann team 4-3...

Salem State, Curry, Nicols? Sorry. You need to play non MASCAC NC games to get some credit as a legit 2 loss team. Good and dangerous? Sure. I just don't see them as PoolC worthy.

            Same goes for Hamilton....

My original reason for posting it

Does anyone remember Adrians SoS rank when they didn't get in?

45th is pretty low. Then again SNC at 39th isnt too far off either....yikes.

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

It will be a cold day in Havana before the MASCAC or CCC get a Pool C.

Endicott will be ranked, but low enough that they won't get a Pool C.

But that leads to a question. Since there are 10 East and 5 West teams ranked, will the committee consider East 5/6 the equivalent of West 3 when comparing ranks?

While Endicott may not be ranked high enough to get a Pool C, will their PPD game against Suffolk today be made up before the CCC playoffs ?
It offered an opportunity to gain points on Nichols (by virtue of this game in hand) who leads them by only 1 point.
If not, both teams have 3 CCC games remaining.

Home ice for the CCC playoffs at stake in the quest for the CCC autobid.
The "Miracle" was winning the Gold Medal Game against the Finns. I'm biased, I was there.

The rank itself doesn't matter, it should just be the individual comparisons between the teams. When you compare 3W vs. 4E for a Pool C slot, their ranking with the region doesn't matter, just Win %, HTH, SOS, COP and RNK (and, of course, how the committee chooses to weight those criteria).

Curry and JWU will be made up on Presidents Day. Anyone in a rent a rink scenario is going to have to work around the existing rink schedules to get the games in.

One good thing - the CCC QFs are not until 2/25, so probably 2/22 is the drop dead date.

Again, by what metric? If this is KRACH, it is not germane. The KRACH SOS is based on the KRACH ranking of a team's opponents. The NCAA SOS metric is based on the actual record of a team's opponents (2/3), and the actual records of a team opponents' opponents (1/3). The KRACH SOS is based on a metric that the NCAA does not recognize. Sometimes the two are close, but not always.
