Congratulations to Harvard. Thoroughly outplayed BU and deserved to win.

Northeastern and Harvard banners hang high in the rafters. What a time to be alive.

Congratulations Harvard! This tournament wouldn't mean anything if the same team won every year.

Tell that to BU fans (or more recently bc fans)

Did it? Apparently the thousands of Harvard fans disguised as empty seats while the Crimson were skating around with the pot didn't notice - or care.

But congrats to the Harvard TEAM. I don't believe, however, that anyone on campus really cares.

Box Attendance was 15,941... And that seems heavy based on the visual of the stands. The Beanpot needs something, I remember non sell outs for the opening round but this was the championship game.

Overall interest in this tournament is definitely waning.

Sent my son in with an extra ticket to give away. Told me that he couldn't find a kid outside to give it to. Not too long ago it would have been a much different story.

The fanbases are the fanbases. I think what harvard and NU (gasp) winning can do is maybe increase the interest of neutrals out there. Hard to quantify but that would be the goal anyway. Haven't been in years so i don't know how many neutrals go/what the prices are like.

Harvard had a nice section. Bigger than I remember in past years. This is good for tournament interest. NU next year!!

Not sure about BU and BC, but it certainly seems the NU student population has changed a lot since I graduated 6 years ago. There seem to be more students from around the country and around the globe, who aren't interested in hockey. That, and the Doghouse has gotten smaller and less rowdy, now that the students are smarter and actually study. It's a great thing for the school, not so much for the hockey team. The Northeastern student support the 08-09 team had was incredible, and unfortunately I don't think it will ever be matched again.

P.S. Is it too early to point out Quinn hasn't won anything without Eichel? Great recruiter, but he is completely underwhelming as a coach IMO.

Edit: Just read the BU thread. Evidently, I'm not alone on Quinn.

Northeastern had 11 sections of students at the 2015 Beanpot final. They're hardly the problem! If anything, it seems as though Northeastern has very limited local support (understandable, with two perennial powerhouses and a globally-known brand like Harvard in the same city).

Same things have happened at BC. But they've seen bigger crowds for hockey as you have probably noticed the last few years at the Pot. Thanks in large part to the entire athletic department being obliterated by Gene Defilipo, Frank Spaziani, and Brad Bates. Hockey was the one source of pride.
