Actually, that seems more likely since I didn't hear a peep about the deficit reduction. Rather, it was "THE CBO LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING!"

Actually, I'm guessing it takes at least a modicum of intelligence to spin half the report while saying the CBO is a bunch of flaming liberals when it comes to the other half. It seems far more likely the GOP didn't know what to do so they decided to do what comes natural: They don't understand something so they toss it an anchor instead of a lifejacket.

Anyway, answer my original question- How.

I'll point out that the US has multiple areas where we have come in, taken over, yet the local culture and identity is still very much in tact. Which flies in the face of your claim. So it will be interesting to hear how it's as evil as you claim.

edit- funny that you bring up how socialism punishes those who are successful- that wasn't any part of my point. Although, I see that just as an excuse to not be a full part of society- let the poor suffer because the don't "work as hard as you". Laughable. Many working poor actually work VERY hard. Just in low paying jobs- like harvesting your food. But since that's not a high value job, they somehow don't deserve simple things like healthcare.
There's a big difference between "not working as hard" and "not having an opportunity". Globalists want to remove the opportunity for anyone not in the "in-crowd" to prosper. They want to be the only ones in control. They want all of the wealth. They will use any means to accomplish this, from exorbitant regulations to selling off the internet to mass censorship. They will use anyone to accomplish the goals, from Muslim migrants to mainstream media to Antifa protesters, but the second any of these groups are no longer of use, you can believe they will be the first to go.

And I'm talking the aftermath too. All those conservatives who hate the bill because it's too much like Obamacare will get on board with a hard-right strip everything away and blow up the system we have health care law. And then we're really screwed.

I was thinking about the healthcare bill and it struck me. The difference between liberals and conservatives is what they treasure more:
    • $100 a year
    • Ensuring 24 million of the poorest Americans are insured

The irony is about half of those 24 million are Trump voters and the other half don't vote for anybody. Not sure how the f-cksticks think they're going to win elections if they kill their base.

Maybe the best outcome is just let it ride for one generation. Let the problem, er, take care of itself.

I teach a class on the healthcare history of the US.i go into detail of how and why employer based plans came to be.

I'm also an unabashed single payer fan. That came from spending two years working on "socialist" systems.
I'm convinced that's the only answer, and that comes from a person deeply imbedded in our own complex plans.

And so are they...their voters dont support this. That is the point we are making. It isnt about what some lame *** GOPer in Congress thinks...cause they dont. It matters what the people think and no one outside the 29%ers support this and even they dont fully.

Want more proof...why do you think Breitbart is going after Paul Ryan now? This is a losing gambit...this is Hitler going into Russia level stupid. Ryan has put forth a plan that will make Trump look even more awful than he already does. This is going to cause waves within the party that wont really be quantifiable for a while. Every GOPer that is challenged in the midterms is going to deal with this even if (as per usual) the Dems are lame in the midterms because the bread and butter (old white people) are the ones being bent over a barrel here. All those people that voted to protect the rights of the Average White Middle Class Voter are getting the shaft without any lube. They arent loyal to anyone but themselves...

Then why are wait lines in the UK the longest they've ever been? What about single payer food systems like they have in Venezuela?

Single payer does not work. It is inefficient, especially on the scope of this country.

Folks have been talking about using the Swiss system for a model. What makes the swiss system different?

It's pretty evident that the "for profit" model does not work, either. Given the large number of uninsured Americans, and the probability that the number will go up. Plus, looking at average life spans- we are nowhere near the best.

The single payer system would be a lot easier to manage, since it's one central place to make sure that benefits are doled out instead of stock options and profit sharing checks.

The ACA was a reasonable compromise- where insurance companies were given a bare min coverage, and the goal of breaking even. Let them offer higher plans to those who want to use more money. But the general public should have coverage to make sure that we don't end up with people going bankrupt if they get sick, or basic care happening in emergency rooms- it's not as if people don't get sick. At a bare minimum, help will likely be used twice- when your are born, and when you die. Even if it's an immediate, accidental death- heathcare is called to deal with it. So this isn't some one time, hope you never use it thing. It's something everyone will use.

Besides, having a healthy workforce is better for business.

Thank you. After working in the nhs for a while I get tired of people trotting out false narratives to say why it's bad. It's not perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than what we've got

Their voters don't like it cause it retains too much of Obamacare. It's not "conservative" enough for them.
