New England gave Gostkowski a 4 year/$17.2 million contract a couple of years ago...so Hauschka isn't even the highest paid kicker in his division.

It's not just Danny. My Dad was an original gangsta Redskins fan -- in the stands for this. For half the 40's and the entire 50s and 60s the Skins were legendarily mismanaged and inept. Their success in the 80s was the anomaly.

Just coming in here to crow about that!

One solid signing doesn't make me hate Ted (as a GM, not personally) any less though.

Waaaayyy better than dealing Butler for him. Aside from the pending Hightower situation I like how the offseason is shaping up for the Pats. Cooks & Gronk = much better O, while D providing Hightower comes back is better with Logan Ryan out and Gilmore in.

I also don't see any of their rivals getting any better at this point (Denver, Pittsburgh, etc).

                      Maybe not.

But our depth on the line isn't great and he was probably our best one.

I'd hate to be Rodgers next season.

Pats resign Hightower at a little less than 11M a year for 4 years.

Not sure I like the highwire act Belichick pulls sometimes but it all worked out in the end. Even better that he left the Steelers and Jets at the altar.
