Yup. Ocean committed first, then Orca committed like a week later.

There's another brotherly connection on that team, but not UVM related - Spencer Foo's brother Parker plays for Brooks

That sounds like a big pickup for the cats. Coincidentally, I was getting a headache on Sunday looking at who they were returning on D next year. If had it right the group is:

                Phillips
                Lee
                Massie
                ODonnell
                Moriarty

Not really gonna shutout teams with that group. Evers and Grant seem like they can help long term. Hopefully they can get one more D this spring.

I've also been reminded that Evers was an NTDP kid, our first since Paliotta

I asked this question on the off season thread.....does anyone know if Abramson is eligible to come back and if so is coming back?
If one of Evers and Long, or both of them can contribute, and Abramson comes back, then I think we can at least make up a decent top 4. The bottom two may be a tad sketchy.

Given that they honored him on senior night, probably not

As he had only played here for 2 1/2 years, there was previous talk on one of the threads about a possible waiver application to the NCAA giving him another year because he did not continue at Providence because of a major illness of some kind.

Re: UVM Recruiting: The future of Catamount hockey

Couple of recruits making playoff runs right now.

-Bryce Misley's Oakville Blades have reached the OJHL semifinals. Misley has 9 points from 10 games, second on the team. The Blades defeated the North York Rangers and Burlington Cougars in five games each and will face Georgetown Raiders in the OJHL semis.

-The Wiesblatt brothers' Brooks Bandits have reached the AJHL semis, although neither played in their quarterfinal sweep of Olds Grizzlys. Olds's play that series made our BC series look even, with the final scores being 9-0, 7-2, 9-1, and 8-0.

-Owen Grant's Carleton Place Canadians have reached the CCHL quarterfinals, dispatching Nepean Raiders in five in Round 1. Grant posted a single point, an assist in Game 1.

-Max Kaufman's Langley Rivermen did not get out of Round 1, falling in six games to the Chilliwack Chiefs. Kaufman himself had a good series with 7 points in 6 games.

-Two recruits didn't even make the playoffs. Jacob Kamps's Pembroke side missed out, finishing bottom of the CCHL (though Kamps's season took a significant upturn when he joined the Lumber Kings). And one I COMPLETELY forgot about in the OP, Martin Fréchette of Cumberland in the same league, saw his team miss the playoffs by one point.

The USHL guys (Esposito, Evers, Long, Petrillo, Dzhioshvili, and yet ANOTHER one I forgot about in Ace Cowans) have about another two weeks to go.
