    You're right that the '66-'67 team had no depth at all. Freshmen, of course, were not eligible for varsity sports at the time. The sophomore class was Garry Kearns' first. Ned Harkness didn't do a lot in his final season as coach to recruit players who would have been seniors in '66-'67, nor did Rube Bjorkman do much in his only season as coach to recruit players who would have been juniors.

    As I recall, after some players got injured and at least one was excused because he had to take the GRE the next day, RPI played a game late in the season at Princeton with only 10 or 11 players dressed, and two of those were the goalies. At no time during the game was it possible to have a line change involving all three forwards and both defensemen - somebody always had to pull a double shift.
    And some went on academic probation the second semester.
