I also remember reading that if we used the same size here as our neighboring states, we would actually tally over 14,000 lakes here.

Also, the difference between a pond and a swamp is that a pond's water has a flow to it, like a lake, while a swamp's water is stagnant.

Lastly, around the St. Cloud are is supposed to get snow while we get rain.
That's what I was thinking of, but can't remember the source.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Reading their description, there is no set size requirement. Some other party DID set a size requirement, though, hence the confusion.

If Minnesota has 10,000 actual lakes, then Wisconsin has 100,000 of them. 10,000 ponds, maybe. Pondettes.

If I can walk across it, in the middle of summer, and my head doesn't go below the water, it isn't a lake in my book. It's a duck slough. I don't care if it was named or not.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

Minnesota has over 10,000 lakes ten acres or larger. I don't know what Wisconsin has but I know they have more. It's not like Minnesota said, "HEY WE HAVE MORE LAKES THAN THAT SHABBY STATE WISCONSIN"

Aren't duck sloughs better than lakes? The pothole region is heaven, after all.

Yeah a quick google search showed me that most sites think it's Minnesota by a long shot. We have the standards- Wisconsin counts puddles.
