Outplaying them the majority of the second only to give up a goal with 8 seconds left.
this has happened to us like 6 or 7 times this year where we give them a goal in the last 40 seconds. drives me nuts. we stopped playing about 15 seconds before the end of the period.

Beyond frustrating, nothing is more demoralizing than giving up a goal within the last minute of a period, especially when you have been outplaying them pretty well most of the game, Bemidji has all of the momentum going into the 3rd now.
That's how you do it! That was a domination to be honest, only reason it wasn't 3 or 4 to 1 was Bitzer.
Tech played much better imho compared to last week or the last few weeks. We certainly had a few things we could do better but overall great effort. I noticed we did not win all that many face-offs after the first period, but overall a really character win.
there was a lot of stick work, hooking and close quarters holding and interference, and some calls on both teams that should have been called and others that they let go.

We really seem to struggle with key face-offs, and we have for as long as I can remember. I think back to the NCAA Tourney with less than a minute remaining and we lose a defensive face-off and St. Cloud scores to tie it up. We just lose those or face-offs in the offensive zone on powerplays way too often. Our powerplay has been ice cold the past few weeks, flat out bad. I'll take the win though.
Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.
Great effort tonight. The fans really got loud and into it, especially the last 5 minutes of the game.We needed that win and the 3 points. Very nerve racking at the end with the goalie pulled. I was hoping for the empty netter.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.
That was the most weirdly officiated game I can remember. I feel like three quarters of the calls and non-calls were attempted makeups, but they happened on the wrong plays. Tech got away with some hooking and interference, but the ones they did call, oh my...
Huskies are very intelligent and trainable. Huskies make an excellent jogging companion, as long as it is not too hot. Grooming is minimal; bathing is normally unnecessary.

Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.
On yesterday's Mel Pearson Show, Mel lamented that the home fans haven't had much opportunity to see their Huskies in the first half. But not counting playoffs, we have the same number of home games remaining this season (seven) as have already been played. Hmm. Well... go get 'em, Traveling Husky Dogs!
Re: MICHIGAN TECH.... 2016-17 season. The 96th season of Hockey.
From today's TMQ column on USCHO:
Jim Connelly: "Since a 4-1 loss to Michigan State on October 21, the Huskies haven’t allowed more than three goals a game, that after allowing four or more goals in four of its first seven."
The Huskies played Michigan on October 21, and lost 4-3. Let's not even talk about incorrect pronoun use for a guy who's listed as "senior writer".
