Re: North Dakota '16 - '17 Season Thread - Let's Do It Again
A friend on Facebook posted today's entry on his Fun Beer Fact A Day calendar that said it was a North Dakota law that bars and restaurants cannot serve beer and pretzels simultaneously. That's....random. Are you guys aware of that law?
I'm happy with the way the guys played. That's the thing about playing highly skilled teams. If the goaltending keeps them in it, all it takes is one mistake, or one made play to win it.
UND will probably look back and kick themselves for their pp opportunities lost.
Good luck to BU the rest of the way.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

The rest of the tournament has a lot to live up to. That was a classic game and it's a shame a team had to lose. Credit to North Dakota on a fantastic run to get to the tournament and a hell of a game.

Thanks. It is a difficult loss to take, but I think most North Dakota fan realize that this team pretty much lived up to its expectations. Going into the season I figured North Dakota was going to be a top-half NCHC team, should make the Frozen Faceoff, and appear in another NCAA Tournament. I figured with North Dakota hosting, they would have a great chance to advance to Chicago. They pretty much did everything I expected the team to do. If you would have told me at the beginning of the season that North Dakota would go toe-to-toe with, and more often than not outplay, BU, I would have been pretty impressed. Unfortunately, things did not go our way in the 2OT. On to next season...

Incredibly entertaining team to watch. Tough out, just ran into a goalie playing out of his mind. Congrats on a great season.
Thanks. BU is a strong team, and their goalie definitely earned his stripes. I'm also really excited to see Lowell play. Going into the tournament, I thought the teams shook out into roughly four pools of quality:
The "A" Group:
Denver
Duluth
Harvard
Lowell
The "B" Group:
Minnesota
Western Michigan
BU
Union
North Dakota
The "C" Group:
Penn State
Air Force
Cornell
Notre Dame
The "D" Group:
Ohio State
Providence
Michigan Tech
I would not be surprised in the least to see the "A" Group all make the Frozen Four.
