It's a start, I guess. If I was looking at the price points, I would look at $25 for club level, $18 for the sides, $14-$15 for the corners/end and $10 for youth. That would put BSU right in line with the rest of the WCHA. That would also leave you some wiggle room for the "premium" non-conference games (UND, Minn, SCSU and UMD). I would also look at bringing back the family four pack that they tried several years ago. Two adult end tickets, two youth tickets, two popcorns and four drinks for $50.

Of course, this would also then require some adjusting of season ticket prices as well.
I am a student so I dont have to worry about it too much as ours are pretty well priced but outside of that tickets are just way too expensive. Seems as though they're realizing it now. No reason to not be at least close to selling out the Sanford center with the kind of year we've had late in the season in a hockey town. Just too expensive for people. That being said the crowd looks better tonight than it has most of the year

Rough last few weeks for the Beavs. Really haven't been the same team since the Princeton series (except superior). Just offensively haven't been able to finish. Defense has been questionable last couple games as well. I'm really hoping they turn it around soon. Early in the season this team looked like it could get an at large for the NCAA tourney now I'm not sure they would make it past the first round of the WCHA tournament.

Was at the Sanford Center tonight. It looked like we were the "middle of the pack" team and Ferris was the league leader. Ugh!

        • BSU's Magic Number to win the MacNaughton Cup outright is at 16 points. 3 points gets them home ice in the first round, 7 points gets them home ice in the first and second round.

I don't think that it's three points. I have it at 1 or maybe 2.

That said, the back-of-envelop math that I did said that Tech and Bemidji will be pretty close or tied at the end.

Thanks Geof! Now that I look at the WCHA standings, it is 1 point to claim home ice in the first round. The point totals I used last night after the games were complete for Lake State and Alaska are not the point totals that are there today.

Yep, the league site is a little slow to pick up the results —*I think that they get the data from collegehockeystats.net.

Decent first period from the Beavers. Nice to get both Eichstadt and Harms back. Would help the pairwise out quite a bit to get a couple wins this weekend.

The Beavers have locked up home ice for the first round of the WCHA Tournament. Their magic number for home ice in the semis remains 7 and their magic number for the MacNaughton remains 16.
