    Re: Bemidji State Beavers: 2016-17

Really great start for the Beavers this year. Was expecting our D to really struggle this year but have been fantastic so far. Really excited for the UND series starting tonight. Wanted to go to the games but can't. We usually play very close with UND but I would be really impressed if we could get a split as I'm not sure if we're for real or not yet but this weekend will be a great way to find out.

Beavers outplayed UND for the first 25 minutes and then CJ settled in and NoDak turned it around. Very impressed with Bemidji... seems to have a nice mix of skill and size and plays a fun brand of hockey. And by the way, the penalty shot on Boeser was extremely soft. That was a bad break for BSU.

Pretty disappointing game last night. Dominated the first period got the two goal lead then started playing conservative and gave up the lead. This team seems to do that a lot with leads. Did it both of the first two weekends as well. Can get away with that against WCHA teams for the most part but not against UND. Would like to see them stay aggressive even with leads

The Beavers broke out some old throwback "Beavers" script jerseys this weekend in Grand Forks. I like them!

Just got back from the Sanford Center after watching the Beavers slip out a 2-1 OT win over Alaska Anchorage. I don't know if I just have a bad attitude tonight, but I just didn't see the energy and skill set (passing for example) of a #20 team. Maybe the ugliest points I've ever seen gained by the Beavers. Perhaps someone else can be more encouraging.

I would have to agree, no jump. Passes weren't crisp or accurate, too many in the feet. I'm pretty sure we'll see a different team tonight.

Beavers improve tonight with a 4-0 shutout against the Seawolves. This was Bitzer's 13th career shutout which is a new BSU record. Despite a poor showing last night, I'll take the sweep. Off to Fairbanks for next week.

Yea it was not a great performance Friday night but for the most part this year we have played extremely well and we can afford to have an off game once in a while with Bitzer in net. I don't know that there is a goalie I would trade him for in the country. Our only 2 losses this season were by a goal each to UND and we should've won the first game. We look like the best team in the conference right now. Let's hope we can keep it up

I think the next two weekends will give us a good measuring stick on the Beavers and the WCHA. Long trip to Fairbanks this weekend, and the Nanooks were able to take a game off Lake State in the Soo this past weekend. I picked a Beaver sweep over in the Pick 'em, but would be happy with a split.

Then next weekend it is down to Mankato........

I agree. I love that the teams that appear to be the best this year all play each other four times.
