well, its either UNH or UCONN. Seeing how UNH has faded, I'd prefer to face them. I think home ice is HUGE for us, maybe even moreso than other teams because of the smaller surface and the way we tailor to that when we're home. Hopefully we can grind something out tonight and pack Lawler next weekend.
Tickets selling well. Reps pretty certain it'll be sold out Friday and Saturday.
Been very impressed with the new alumni relations/development office. Very accommodating.
Fully agreed both on the athletics staff and the alumni relations side. They are doing some good stuff, and I hope they can reel some alumni back into the fold.
Boy this team has some wheels. Tavernier off to the races on that 1st goal. He has been on an offensive tear lately, and so has Hennig. Great to see the scoring coming from the 2nd and 3rd lines (Petti was outstanding against UNH in the playoffs last year, and he picked right up last night!). Delia solid AGAIN.
Close it out tonight. Stay out of the box, (can't continue to give a very good UNH powerplay more opportunities) and move on to the next round.
Just watched the highlights from all of last nights games. Merrimack's highlight package is really well done, and John Leahy is fantastic on the mic. Lots of "fans" disguised as empty seats at Matthews (NU) and Schneider (PC).
Did Jean Claude Van Damme helicopter in and put on Tirone's gear tonight? Completely different game from him tonight. Could see MC testing him glove side, then switching to the cycle in the third, nothing doing against him tonight. Credit where credit is due. 44 saves very impressive.
Some great looks in the first period. I'm not sure if it's MC's fault or UNH's D system changing but MC seemed to be stuck along the board as of the second period, dumping forward instead of walking it in like last night.
