Thanks for the heads up, just picked one up for a friend and new season ticket holder!

Jack has family connections at Union and has always had some interest. He's been around campus several times over the years.

Dumais leaving Union hockey for Quinnipiac
            http://www.dailygazette.com/weblogs/...26/dumais_726/

Anybody know why he left? Did anyone see it coming? How is this going to impact the team? Any thoughts?

Exactly.. this is not a hard one to figure out the motives, especially considering that Quinnipiac is not exactly a chump change program . I'm sure the money is better too. Leaves U in a bit of a tough space, as most coaches dance cards are filled out this time of year, but hopefully Rick can find another good one. Also hope this doesn't mean that any of the current recruits decide to not come..

Mercyhurst assistant John Ronan is leading candidate to replace Joe Dumais as Union asst. Maine alum was on staff for NCAA champ. in 13-14.
There is a leading candidate to replace Joe.

Money. He almost left twice before. Once for Princeton, and once for a DIII job at a school not even considered good by DIII standards, so I'd imagine everyone saw it coming.

I wouldn't say any of the local high schools are top destinations for the blue chip prospects anymore as a lot of the best kids go the junior route or USHL.
Or Prep. MC has had a nice run as far as the Mass Public/Parochial schools go. But most players that are destined for D-1 move on to another level for a year or two from these schools. Times sure have changed since Boston public schools sent players directly to D-1 (For BU specifically, the Sacco brothers and Shawn Bates from Medford High, Shawn McEachern from Matignon, and Keith Tkachuk from MC.

Very much agree. It's hard to move from Prep to D-1 despite PG programs that can "tack on" a year. Some of the Prep facilities like those at Andover (Class A) and St. Sebs and Nobles (ISL) are remarkable. The academics are remarkable too.

                            It's a done deal!
I've been lost since 1989. I got a breakaway on a frozen river and have been skating ever since.

Is there a running list somewhere that shows all the former Dutchmen that are now playing in the ranks of professional hockey?
