      Your snark is noted, but not everyone in Brooklyn votes D, sparky. Even where the vast majority do, voting D is not necessarily a mark of intelligence. For instance, there are plenty of airheaded libs living in California, as evidenced by the "Calexit" movement having ~33% support. Oh, and then there's this moron.

            This seems important.

            In a paper published in the prestigious journal Nature, a team led by Shoukhrat Mitalipov of Oregon Health and Science University described how it used CRISPR/Cas9 to correct a genetic mutation that’s linked to a heart disorder called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in human embryos.

                Sorry, I just meant that we've been designing dogs for a very long time now, and could likely go back many millennia to when we first started breeding for traits. What we're doing now is nothing new except in the varieties and qualities we wish to see from these animals.

                      On the medical side, my wife had 2 cousins die of CF. I hope we can eradicate this and other genetic diseases.

                      The temptation to play God will be strong. Can you design a super athlete? A person with a superior intellect?

                      I'd proceed with great caution on this, knowing that in some rogue lab somewhere Kahn Noonien Singh is under construction while in another the end of CF is at hand.

                        They f-cked up because they bred him with extra aggression. If he'd just been smarter, prettier, and stronger they'd have created a race of Hedy Lamarrs.
