The Fantasy College Hockey 20016 USCHO League Playoffs begin on Monday, March 14th at noon time. Here are the modified rules for the playoffs. Any questions or comments should be posted here. All teams have a 0-0-0 record entering the playoffs, so everyone has a chance to win it all. Please subscribe to this thread for follow-up information after each round. Good Luck All!
* You may make unlimited moves between your Active Roster and Reserve Roster throughout the playoffs, same as the regular season. *
The difference between the Regular Season Rules and the Playoff Season Rules is in Free Agent player movement restrictions, as follows:
1. Free Agent player moves to your roster are restricted: A maximum of 4 Free Agent/Snipe moves are allowed per Playoff Round.
2. Sniping: when one team defeats another in a playoff round, you can 'snipe' 2 players from the defeated team's roster, if you choose. These 2 'snipes' count against your maximum 4 Free Agent moves for that round. So, if you snipe 2 players, you have 2 Free Agent moves remaining, which can be taken from the player Free Agent pool.
3. Taking Snipes: Sniped players MUST be added to your roster BEFORE the start of the first game of the next round. Bear in mind that the snipes must be released by the GM of the team you defeated, or by the FCH Administrator. The earlier you act on your snipes the better, so you will have time to add them to your roster before the start of the next round.
4. Free Agent Moves: Unlike adding sniped players to your roster, which must be made BEFORE the start of the first game of the next round, Free Agent moves may be made anytime before the start of the second day's games of that Playoff Round. Example: you can wait until the first day of an NCAA Regional is complete before taking your Free Agents, as long as the moves are made before the start of the next day's game, which is the same cutoff as the regular season rules. Once all the games have started in a Playoff Round, no more free agent moves may be made in that Playoff Round.
5. Once a team is knocked out of the playoffs, the defeated team's roster is frozen (except for the 2 allowed snipes) and the remaining players on that roster CANNOT be made available as free agents.
6. Free Agent/Snipe moves must be taken in each round as described in the rules above, or you lose them. Unused Free Agent or Snipe moves in a Playoff Round cannot be stock piled and use in the next round. There is a maximum of 4 Free Agent/Snipe moves per round.
First Round:
Starts: Monday, 3/14 at noon (EST).
Ends: At the start time of the last scheduled NCAA game of Round 1.
Regular Season rules apply up until noon time, March 14th. No further Free Agent moves are allowed until the start of the Second Round of the playoffs begins.
Second Round:
Starts: Monday, 3/21 at noon (EST).
Ends: At the start time of the last scheduled NCAA game of Round 2.
Maximum of 4 Free Agent moves allowed, 2 of which can be snipes from the opponent's roster that you defeated in the previous round. Snipes must be taken BEFORE the start of the first game of Round 2.
Final Round: Starts Monday, 3/28 at noon. Maximum of 4 Bench/Free Agent moves allowed, 2 of which can be snipes from the opponent's roster that you defeated in the previous round. Snipes must be taken BEFORE the start time of the first game of the NCAA Frozen Four semifinals.
Our FCH Tournamnet Champion will be crowned on Saturday, April 9th.
Playoffs: from the FCH Website:
Playoffs will be available via the League Home page and will only be visible to members of the league. Leagues must have at least eight teams in order for playoffs to operate. At noon the day the playoffs commence, teams will be seeded by total points. Playoffs operate on a weekly cycle, from noon to noon, but the final round encompasses two weeks to account for the one week waiting period before the Frozen Four. The top point earner in each head-to-head period will advance, and the winner will inherit the higher seed. There are three playoff rounds. etc. Fantasy College Hockey Rules Link
