Appears he was borderline participating at NTDP evaluation camp after recovering from a broken leg. Jeff Cox ranked Mastrosimone #10 among the forwards in his camp review. Another camp observer thought he looked a bit rusty. He was also ranked among the top 20 on several OHL draft lists, although he eventually went in the 9th round to Missasauga, the same team that drafted Trevor Zegras.

Regardless, it's highly likely that both forwards will become NHL draft picks, which we've now learned is very bad for the BU program.

In CHN story, BC recruit calls BU recruit Bowers from USHL the hardest forward to play against:
Interestingly enough, Karow was quick to heap praise on a future college rival when asked who the hardest forward to play against was this past season.

[Boston University recruit] Shane Bowers, said Karow. He combines his size and skill level. He uses his body positioning to protect the puck. Hes the best forward weve played against.

I was looking at some U18 World Championship box scores. Who is Braeden Tkachuk? Or is that just his real name?

Edit: Yeah, I guess it's him. Just didn't look the same in a picture and thought maybe there was a third one.

Watched the U18 semifinals and championship game and all the future Terrier performed quite well. Tkachuk, not surprisingly, combined a high hockey IQ with a bulldog determination (and size) to win puck battles. He should certainly compete for a top six spot next fall, along with Bowers. Cockerill has Cloonan-like speed and hopefully is a better finisher. Made a slick drop pass to send Farabee in for a short-handed goal. Dogged penalty killer. Farrance's game is similar to Krys's--talented skater and puck-mover, strong shot, won physical battle despite being under six feet tall. Farabee won't arrive until 2018. He's a natural goal scorer whose already being mentioned as a potential first-round pick for 2018. Tkachuk is being mentioned as a top 10 pick for 2018. Three guys made the U-17s (Zegras, Vlasic, McCarthy), one other turned apparently down the offer (Cade Webber).

Jeff Cox/CHN feature on 2017 recruit Shane Bowers. Projected to be a late first-round pick in the June draft and headed to next month's NHL Combine. http://www.collegehockeynews.com/new...s-Key-Part.php
