Saw a Kia Stinger in traffic yesterday.

That look keeps growing on me - very Tesla-esque. Looks like if Samsung made a car (makes sense, I suppose.)

With sporty sedans going out of vogue in favor of Moar Bland AWD Crossovers With Decent Seating And Cargo Room I bet I could get a smokin' deal.

That's part of the reason I got my Cam so cheap. Plus, the whole RWD/automatic (default; can switch to paddle shift if I want) helps, too, in this state.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

It's because those sporty crossovers have all the advantages and driving experience of a sedan but with better refinement and more room.

My MDX is sportier than most sedans and even some coupes. 0-60 in half the time of my Mustang and better handling. And I can fit eight people in it. It's going to be hard to convince me to get back into a coupe or sedan after the last few years with the MDX.

    Just a comparison of times (0-60, 1/4):

    2015 Challenger R/T: 5.1, 13.7
    2016 Camaro V6: 5.2, 13.8
    2016 Mustang V6: 5.3, --
    2016 MX-5: 5.8, 14.5
    2016 MDX: 5.9, 14.4
    2016 Charger SXT: 6.3, 14.7
    2016 Impala LTZ: 6.3, 14.9
    2018 Stinger 2.0T: 6.4, 15.0

I know that straight speeds aren't everything, but I'll also take the sport handling package that comes in my MDX. And only one of those is getting out of the snow.

    Hit a nerve, did I?

I'm still a little salty about Ford canning their entire car lineup save the Mustang. Focus RS would have made the shortlist.

(For what it's worth, the Stinger GT with the turbo V6 does 0-60 in the upper 4's and can outdrag a V8 Mustang, and is available in AWD.)

Yes and no. I think I edited that post four or five times. Stream of consciousness fueled by curiosity and then translated to message board.

I'm not really bothered because I know you and I have very different preferences in cars. Which is totally fine.

Yeah...I'm not the asshat kid in the OBEY cap leaving skid marks all over the mall parking lot, but I'm not the starched-collar-and-tie white picket fences and HOAs type either. Tough balance to strike.

And then there's the BMW "check out my #gainz, brah" brotato type to avoid too.

LOL The Impala LTZ? Was the sunroof down causing drag? All the chrome trim blind the data sensors? The Impala LTZ is for people with 60k to burn and don't want a GMC Sierra Denali.

The SS (may the Austrailian built Holden Commodore RIP) should have been the comparison car. Otherwise they're missing the 2.0T Malibu and the 1.6T Cruze comparisons.

That the Stinger has as much giddy-up as my old 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix? No, I did catch that.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk laughs at those numbers.

(Yes, I realize they aren't comparable. Just having fun.)

The Impala LTZ is for people who want to buy a car that sucks. I know, because my wife made me buy one for her.
That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

That is on my short list.

No I do. You get to drive really fast in a straight line for about five miles before it remembers itís a Jeep and it loses a wheel or blows a gasket.

I was referencing the stupid stickers that people put on their Jeeps: "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand"

I always thought those stickers were stupid, but Wranglers are still awesome (and reliable).

Not reliable enough. Need a fancy Honda to get approval.

Wranglers are NOT reliable. Jeep has one of the worst reliability ratings out there. The numbers just donít agree with you.

Camrys are reliable. Civics are reliable. Jeeps and most other American cars arenít even in the same league.

8 of the 10 cars on Consumer Reports' least reliable vehicles are made by Fiat Chrysler.
