I had the pleasure of talking hockey with Coach Burkholder for about an hour at a UC game in The Cooler back when his son was a Pioneer. What a great guy; I've been a Niagara fan ever since. He was very frank and very funny. Betcha Eddie is going to love working with him.
I wasn't dazzled by any one Pioneer's feet, but team-speed on the whole looked pretty impressive. Castleton is wayyoung this year, but I hope their track record as a quality program means that they served as a good yardstick.
Only a couple of WTH D mistakes; UC looked solid in their own end for the most part.
Ditto Fredrick in net, aside from his completely unwarranted excursion from his crease that resulted in the first goal. Heenan just loves that "3rd defenseman" crapola.
Speaking of King Gary... Saw a lot of parents at the game and boy-oh-boy did they ever chew my ear off. Miglio being a healthy scratch and some suspicious vote-tabulation in regards to selecting the captain were the hottest topics. (Not necessarily giving either one any credence, mind you, just repeating some popular opinions.)
Have no idea how UC will stack-up v. the rest of the W, but so far so good.
The Pioneers look to be off to a good start despite losing a one goal lead late Sat vs. Naz. 3 of 4 pts in Rochester is quite acceptable. Frosh Frederick seems to have beaten out Wells as #1 netminder. Nice to see Bushinski back from his major injury and playing well. Two E-W home games next weekend v. Elmira & Hobart will add to the body of evidence regarding UC's chances this year.

Always great to see a player make a successful comeback from an injury
And George Roll, while I have had issues with him in the past (as have others), he has always been the real deal when it comes to coaching, a tie with a team of his, is often going to be acceptable.

Temper is one thing you can't get rid of by losing it.
God gave everyone patience-The wise use it.
