    Interesting... very interesting... https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-...house-bill/193

It's a decent idea, but comes at a great risk. If we "want back in" when a globalist takes over (as much as I'd like to see globalism completely die off, a part of me just knows better), we lose the security council clout.

I just found this site and can't vouch for whether it's serious or just part of the MIC food chain, but this is an interesting piece.

U.S. leaders and policymakers should understand that a preemptive Chinese missile strike against the forward bases that underpin U.S. military power in the Western Pacific is a very real possibility, particularly if China believes its claimed core strategic interests are threatened in the course of a crisis and perceives that its attempts at deterrence have failed. Such a preemptive strike appears consistent with available information about China’s missile force doctrine, and the satellite imagery shown below points to what may be real-world efforts to practice its execution.

        Yikes. Duck and cover, everyone.

The word choice and construction of Trump's sentences raise serious doubts whether he would pass a Turing test.

A preemptive missile strike is a 'real possibility' but not likely. Sure, China is not fully developed and will always be challenged on technology. But its your century, why not wait it out and be satisfied with long term market domination?

The minute you permanently take an avenue off the table, it ceases to be a threat.

I agree with this. The Chinese know "tomorrow belongs to me." They have no ideology about making the world safe for {excuse for imperialism}. Their religion doesn't care what religion you are. They're not going to screw it up.

              1. They need oil just bad as everyone else, actually moreso.

              2. The Chinese are kind of like the metric system. We've been hearing about their inevitable takeover for decades now with equal results to show for it. They may have numbers, but their governmental system will continue to hold them back.

                1. Actually sounds like the Chinese are hard at work bypassing the petrodollar economy entirely. Too bad our leaders lack the imagination (or the scruples).

                2. The Chinese takeover might not look anything like the UK-US commercial model or the Roman military model. The Chinese idea of global supremacy may simply to be powerful enough that they're impervious to any outside interference, malevolent or benign.

Dudes have spent the last 5000 years basically wanting to be left alone. They've got their demons, but they don't seem to be the western expansionist demons. They appear to be profoundly uninterested in us except as having the potential to throw one of our occasional ideological fits and attack them.

It's "keep on your side of the street, round eye." Would that we behaved likewise.

Remember how people voted for Trump over Hillary because she was a hawk who would get us embroiled even deeper in the Middle East, and he was an America Firster who would halt our runaway imperialism?

Rut roh. Looks like Putin's Phase 2 is "pull back from puppet boy, make him (even more) the fool."

There are reports that state television has been instructed to scale back its coverage of the US president. The Kremlin has dismissed these as "rumours".

"I was told by someone closely connected to one of Russia's main state TV companies that such instructions exist and were issued in the wake of Flynn's departure," says Konstantin Eggert, a political commentator for the independent channel TV Rain.

"As far as I know, the idea is not so much to present him in a negative light, but to scale down coverage of the United States in general. Inevitably I think there's going to be a scaling down of positive coverage of Trump, too. The Kremlin's idea is to reduce expectations from this much-anticipated detente between Moscow and Washington."

Mr. Trump has been played this whole time by Russia. An inexperienced politician matched against a skilled politician whose origins are from counter intelligence and spy craft.

Very few flyable P 51s left. There are no pilots because to start out you get paid diddly squat and the training is expensive . Air Force ROTC, 4 yrs of school, 11 years in the military to pay them back. Plus military pilots probably need a EE degree or some kind of engineering degree.
