Worst cover of my lifetime was Donna Summer discofying "MacArthur Park"
Sheryl Crow "D'yer Maker" and "Sweet Child O'Mine."
Madonna "American Pie."
The defense rests.
Never really developed a taste for tequila. Kind of hard to understand how you make a drink out of something that sharp, inhospitable. Now, bourbon is easy to understand.

Early in the morning, rising to the street
Light me up that cigarette and strap shoes on my feet
Got to find the reason, reason things went wrong
Got to find the reason why my money's all gone
I got a Dalmatian and I can still get high
I can play the guitar like a mother f-cking riot

Worst covers? The previous nominations were amateur hour. I give you:
Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
Jessica Simpson - These Boots are Made for Walkin - Nancy Sinatra
Avril Lavigne - Imagine - John Lennon
Miley Cyrus - Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
Britney Spears - I love Rock N Roll - Joan Jett
Korn - Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd
Hillary Duff - My Generation - The Who
Tom Jones - Kiss - Prince
Limp Bizkit - Faith - George Michael (which coincidentally leads to)
What might possibly be the worst cover ever (unless you live in a cave and neer heard the original):
George Michael - True Faith - New Order

Very honorable nominations, for sure. I'd put the LB "Faith" up there with the Crow/Madonna covers as worst ever. For me, what makes the Crow/Madonna covers the worst is the legendary status of the originals in the first place.

My Generation, Another Brick in the Wall, Imagine, Behind Blue Eyes and Smells Like Teen Spirit qualify for legendary. I realize I'm fighting an unrelenting uphill battle of stubborn so we'll agree to disagree.

I will admit I haven't heard a couple of those covers (and even though it'd be for "research" I refuse to look up those covers). However, knowing your music knowledge, I do respect your submissions, and will give you a "bro-nod" on the horrible-ness of said covers.

I like Korn's version of Another Brick in the Wall, but it doesn't come close to the original. It was just interesting to hear a harder version of it.

The ones in red were links. Seriously you should listen to the George Michael cover of True Faith. It's hideous.
Given your fondness for Jett I thought you'd find that one particularly hideous.
I have heard the Faith cover, and it's puke-worthy. It's not even a bad cover, it's no talent whatsoever. I'm divided on Jett, btw. Her stance on the (relatively) recent movies on the Runaways, one really good, one really bad, made me lose some respect.

When the metal band Shadows Fall or some such thing covered Welcome to the Machine, I nearly lost it. I was driving, so I had to hold it together. Why the hell 93x was on, I'll never know.
