Are they giving the 'Hawks a re-do on Game 3? You guys didn't play so hot, and Bishop's leg clearly isn't as sh***y as the Lightning are claiming, so we're just going to give you a mulligan on this one. Because, hey, it's already golf season for most of the league!

Awesome. Gonna have to check that out. IIRC (obviously, it's been YEARS), that was a huge deal in MN, because of the female HS hockey players here. A big reason the MN girls were so good, was they were playing with the boys' teams for so long. Manon's quest was a monster milestone.

These Hawks have shown they play their best when their backs are against the wall. Regrettably they have yet another opportunity to live up to that reputation.

Having said all that, I think this team thrives on having their backs against the wall. I expect tomorrow's 19 shot period effort to result in 3 goals. (That was the killer last night. Only getting 1 in the first.)

I found this to be of some comfort; perhaps you will too:

The Hawks have been down two games to one in five previous series in the last three years, and have come back to win four of them.

In addition to beating the Ducks in this year's Western Conference finals, the Hawks came back on the Blues in 2014 and the Red Wings and Bruins in 2013.

The only series in which they failed to come back from that deficit was last year's Western Conference finals against the Kings.

The Hawks have been down after three games in half of their previous 10 series. It's pretty much the house special.

So is learning how to impose their game on opponents as a series progresses.

Under Quenneville, the Hawks are 40-14 in Games 4-7, 22-6 since the start of the 2013 playoffs. In Games 5-7 since 2009, the Hawks are 27-8, 13-3 since the start of the 2013 postseason.

So he's saying there's a chance.

Wouldn't know, that wasn't the feeling tonight.

Have my doubts about the nature and extent of the "injury." The Bolts are playing the mind game on this pretty well, aided and abetted by non-stop NBC commentary indicating he's all but crippled. But to my eye Bishop actually got a little stronger as the game went on.

Bishop out tonight. Vasy and Gudlevskis for the Bolts in game 4. Vasy will start.
