This Phoebe Rose character is certainly a determined, but free, spirit. A nice combo. And for some reason I like the fact that she plays D!
I wonder if we're looking at a roman à clef in the making . . . (pardon my french).

Having read a rough draft I can guarantee you this is not a roman à clef. I think it captures the sense of family good teams have but the people are entirely made up.

for those of you who aren't into reading hockey novels:
            statistics!
            players number-goals allowed-goals scored-ratio
goals=goals against/for while on the ice at even strength or short handed
            21 10 73 7.3
            22 12 81 6.8
            14 9 56 6.2
            2 9 53 5.9
            11 6 32 5.3
            9 12 51 4.3
            5 16 65 4.1
            12 15 56 3.7
            18 6 22 3.7
            20 12 38 3.2
            19 14 42 3.0
            7 15 41 2.7
            13 16 40 2.5
            27 3 7 2.3
            15 4 9 2.3
            6 10 22 2.2
            10 10 22 2.2

and it suddenly occurred to me while taking a break from cleaning the inside of my car (and listening to the radio)
in addition to a shortage of tall defenders next year compared to the past
there may also be a shortage of players who listen to country music

SIX more players officially added to the team: http://www.gophersports.com/sports/w...051515aab.html

Anna Barlow, Defense, South St. Paul High School
Tianna Gunderson, Forward, Roseau High School
              Emma May, Goaltender, Cretin-Derham Hall
Caitlin Reilly, Forward, transfer from Penn State (Benilde-St. Margaret's)
Nicole Schammel, Forward, transfer from Minnesota State (Red Wing High School)
Sierra Smith, Forward, Stillwater High School

Schammel will most likely have to redshirt 2015-2016 due to the WCHA in-conference transfer rule.

This I find to be some particularly good news. Nevertheless.

Same time...you have to feel for the new regime at MSU-M. A considerable loss before they even hit the ground.

It won't be the first Minnesota recruit Harrington loses to UM. Better for him to realize that the first week on the job.

Even w/o Schammel for another year, that is still eight players to replace five (four seniors and Kate Flug). Eeyore should be happy; okay, not HAPPY, but you know what I mean.

Hockeysbest probably will also be "not happy".
At the outset, we could hang with the dude...

                            slow news day

maybe Frost should think about a JV team so all of the players get the playing time they need
I'd give the JV team a 50/50 shot at making the NCAA

and perhaps their non-conference schedule should be DIII men's teams

I assume these kids know that many of them will be practice players.

unlike last year, the fourth line will not be centered by Hannah Brandt
