....why is there a player chasing JDA on a penalty shot?
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

After setting an NHL record last season with the highest ratio of goals to assists in history (22 G, 2A), Brandon Pirri played for the Panthers against Nashville in their first exhibition game.

        And recorded an assist.

Just a guess- coaches perhaps adding the pursuer to mimick an in game breakaway situation.

Zalewski released by Vancouver & will attend Utica Comets training camp. Looks like there’s a difference between being “released to attend training camp” & being “assigned to Utica Comets”......http://canucks.nhl.com/club/news.htm...f26dd8bc8f4ea1

According to http://www.spotrac.com/nhl/vancouver...hael-zalewski/ his entry contract was for two years starting right after the RPI season ended in 2013-14 (evidently he bolted immediately following the season), and so this year he is an unrestricted free agent.

                  * Allen York entered in a difficult situation with the Lightning trailing 4-1, but the 26-year-old gave his team a chance to get back in the game by shutting out the Predators for nearly his entire 30-plus minutes on the ice.
Only a late Nashville power-play goal prevented York from a perfect outing.
“I thought I did a pretty good job controlling what I could control, rebounds, things like that,” York said. “The one goal, it was too bad. I couldn’t pick it up. It just kind of fell off me, and the guy tapped it in. Overall, I was happy with it.”
York only faced nine shots while Wilcox saw 21. York said he’d rather those numbers were reversed.
“I think as a goalie, especially in a camp situation, you want the rubber,” he said. “You don’t want half the game where you only get like five or six shots.”.... http://lightning.nhl.com/club/news.h...id=DL|TBL|home

If this will be BP’s line, as projected here, then 2a will be eclipsed early......B. Pirri N. Bjugstad R. Smith....... http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=7...id=DL|NHL|home

article about BP on SB Nation http://www.litterboxcats.com/2015/9/...-brandon-pirri.
Pirri spent most of the next three seasons marinating in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs and getting in some games here and there with the parent club.
Somehow "marinating" seems like the wrong word.

A slight indeed -- considering he was top AHL scorer in 2013.

Perhaps 'percolating' would have been a better choice?

Its great to hear that Luke is getting a chance somewhere, but where has he been while everyone else was in a training camp?
I hope he in not really going in as a forward, he is a defenseman and a good one. He would have much better chance at that position.
