Winter's starting to gear up here with 18.5" so far in January, sitting around 0°F and -20 wind chill, it's supposed to get worse tomorrow - schools are already cancelled - but hopefully clear up enough for the Northern games this weekend.
Huskies are very intelligent and trainable. Huskies make an excellent jogging companion, as long as it is not too hot. Grooming is minimal; bathing is normally unnecessary.

Gotta leave for hockey in 10 minutes and just realized that I didn't bring my equipment in from the garage to thaw.

On the upside, the frozen temperatures should have eliminated the stink from the gear!

God, that's awesome. We got 7 flippin' inches. Stupid lake-, er, reservoir-effect snow.

Two very nice African-American teens came around my place offering to dig out driveways. I politely directed them to the old racist b1tch who lives across the street. I'm sure she thought it was Obama's Commie Muslin FEMA Camp stormtroopers. WAKEUPSHEEPLE!!!111!

With the amount of wind we had yesterday morning, I thought that today felt warmer than yesterday even though the actual air temp was colder. It's still -9F at home, -6F here in Minneapolis. Predicted highs for today are -6F and -4F, respectively, and that led to a large number of schools either delaying two hours or shutting down for the day (which I still find odd as we only ever closed for big snowfalls when I was in school, not low temps).
"The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." George Orwell, 1984

"One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its Black Gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep, and the Great Eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very air you breathe is a poisonous fume." Boromir

"Good news! We have a delivery." Professor Farnsworth

We've been closing the schools whenever the windchill is under -30 here for the last couple years (which in parts of MN would mean school could only run from June - October). But my wife (the one in charge of these things at our house) approves, she hates to see kids at bus stops when it's that cold. So I keep my mouth shut about "back in my day."
