    I found out at the Tampa frozen four (we stayed closer to Orlando than Tampa) that there are a lot of Minnesota alumni in the area.

          Well, that obviously is part of it. But there are just a large amount of younger families who have moved to Florida from northern areas, at least around where I live. MacDill AFB could also play into that, I suppose.

            If the Bowls still worked the way they did when I was growing up:

            Rose Bowl 4:30 NBC
            Ohio State (12-1) vs Oregon (12-1)

            Orange Bowl 8:00 NBC
            Florida State (13-0) vs Baylor (12-1)

            Sugar Bowl 8:30 ABC
            Alabama (12-1) vs TCU (12-1)

            Good luck determining a national champion from that...Also, which game are you watching in prime time?

                        Seriously, how happy are you if you're Mike Eaves? There's been a few posts to this effect in the UW hockey thread, but we've all got to imagine that there's no way that the AD wants to go through the process of hunting for a new hockey coach while dealing with this crap. If Alvarez was ever going to consider an in-season change, Eaves just found a month or two stay of execution.
